:shadedshu Palit quality inside. Everybody know that Gainward is only re-branded Palit! I would never buy Palit ... never again.

Why what happened with Palit? I remember palit guy here on the forums.

Maybe these advancements will enable them to develop a GTX 470 "GOODER" edition. Eventually, we'll hit "GOODEST" and we can all rejoice.

There is always the "GOODESTER" ultimate edition. It will also flip your flapjacks after a predetermined time, before they burn. ;)

I reckon thats just bad luck. :(
I've had quite a few Palit cards over the years (even built loads of PC's for customers using the G92-based Palit and Gainward cards) and I've yet to see any of them fail.

Unfortunatly, with any manufacturer, you can still have bad luck. I built a machine for a customer recently which had one Sapphire 5970, and guess what..... it failed. Bad luck.

I have to agree. The 8800GT I am using for Physx is a Palit Sonic+ 1GB. I have benched it at 1.7 volts under water cooling on a single 120mm rad. It is still going strong, and OCed to 700 core on stock volts. I've had very good luck with Palit cards.

I've had three Gainward GTX260 1792mb GS cards. I first bought two, they overclocked well and ran cool, albeit fairly noisily. one day I was changing cards in and out of my rig for some comparative benchmarking, and put the two 260's back and got a really crazy issue described here

I RMA'd the card to the store I bought it from, there it tested out A'ok in their i7 test rig, but since I told them it didn't SLi with mine, and they didn't have a second handy to test SLi with, they sent it back to Gainward, who sent back a brand new card.

All in all I love'd the cards and still own one, excellent build quality, good overclocking, fairly serious air cooling and good RMA service. this seems to be the case with this GTX 470.

If I were in the market for a 470 at the mo, I'd put serious consideration into this model.
