Still seems to perform admirably vs a 24GB U.S.$1600 4090

Having less than 20 Gb at this price point is unacceptable, and compared to a 4090, the card will be notably constrained when trying to fit a ML model.

Pretty underwhelming performance vs last gen but gees, it's not far off a 4090 in a lot of instances. You'd have to seriously consider it if you're in the market for a new card. Its US 600 cheaper than a 4090 and soundly beats 4080S for the same money. Not sure why it's getting so much hate?

Cus it can't even match the last gen stuff, it's even losing by 10-15%. Usually these cards are FASTER, not even matching. So the hate would have been lesser if it at least did match it... which it rarely does (like 1 out of 50 games.

It is the WORST 80 tier card i have ever seen? Also, it doesn't even have 20-24GB of VRAM, which 4090 does and It's trying to replace that card? AMD has more on a 750-800 euro card. With taxes. This card is selling for 1200 (ABI, FE don't sell in Europe here) and that will become 1400 once it goes to the stores. Then add another 100-150 cus of taxes. 1500 for this?! Meh. If they made this card a cool 1000 with taxes and all, sure? It's gonna be less hated. If they make this card 800-900, then it will be even loved by the GPU fans.

We basically all waited 3 years for a sligtly better 80 card? I could of had fun for 3 years but instead i choose to suffer and lag and wait for the next gen stuff? You bet im mad. This is the FIRST time they do this. There is always a big generation uplift. ALWAYS. This is peanuts. Hell, i could have gotten a 4090 for almost the same price of a 5080. No joke. I didnt. Thanks Ngreedia. I guess i gotta wait 2 more years for a real next gen card? This card has OLD GEN performance in 2025. Even worse than the old gen as i said. Next gen only starts at 5090. Fun.

The VRAM capacity does hurt but yesterday no one mentioned this is almost a 4090 at 4k. It closes the gap quite a lot as the resolution goes up and seems to perform almost par on newer games.

Probably some additional headroom to come from driver updates.
