I'm creating this topic to post the favorite soundtrack of any game. The ones I really like are:

Overlord II, Dustforce, and Bastion have the best soundtracks I've ever heard in a game. Other games have a few good titles but for front to back excellent, they take that cake.

Guile Theme
Monkey Island
Zelda - A Link to the Past
The DIG
Day of the Tentacle
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atalantis
Sam & Max: Hit the Road
Vollgas
Discworld II
Donkey Kong Country
F-Zero (SNES)
Darius Twin
Samurai Showdown
Parodius
Mystic Quest
Secret of Mana
Bastion
Halo
Blizzard Games

Just to name a few ...

Part of the music that I like and is in game soundtrack?

These are the ones that come to my mind faster o_O

Fatboy Slim - "Rockafella Skank" @ FIFA 99
Snoop dogg feat. The Doors - "Riders on the Storm" @ NFSU2"

Creedence Clearwater Revival - "Fortunate Son" @ BFBC2 Vietnam
Skrillex & Damian Marley - "Make It Bun Dem" ... @ FarCry 3
Rudimental ft. John Newman - "Feel The Love" ... @ NSFMW

Mass effect (especially 3) had great music.

Zelda - A Link to the Past
I think Ocarina of Time had a lot better ones than Link to the Past. Here's the 25th anniversary symphony version of Gerudu Valley (close to the best if not the best). It took brilliant and added the exclaimation point!

Donkey Kong Country
OMG YES!
I would literally start the boss battle just to listen to that song.

Mass effect (especially 3) had great music.
I wish it had better, to be honest, but there is one that knocked it out of the park. It is so distinctly Mass Effect and still powerful:
Can't forget the unforgettable either:

dao - leliana's song

malukah - leliana's song

malukah - skyrim - the dragonborn comes

the witcher

aoe 2

For me, the game series with the best soundtracks are:

Castlevania (especially SOTN)
Halo
Unreal tournament
After burner
Street fighter
Zelda

I still have an mp3 folder dedicated to game soundtracks of all sorts, but those in that list are the ones I keep going back to.

EVE Online - Below The Asteroids:

Ace Combat Zero - Zero:

Mass Effect - Reprise:

Bastion - Build That Wall:

Borderlands - Ain't No Rest for the Wicked:

Bastion, Terraria, Zelda (like mentioned before, the 25th anniversary CD is heaven, but any game in the series has amazing music), and I just noticed this, but the music in Awesomenauts is really good too.

Capcom vs SNK 2
Tekken series
donkey kong country 1

just about all console games for me

giana sisters

alek szahala - the great giana sisters themes

giana sisters remix

great giana sisters - ds music remakes

giana sisters - twisted dreams

Soundtracks from Quake I to Quake III (specially Quake I)

Also Crysis:

There's an epic song in Assassin's Creed II. All I know is that it is resource ID 018A51D5 and 2:14 long. I can't find it online anywhere. I'm tempted to upload it.

Another one is 07458141. People that played the game would recognize it as the music that plays during the race challenges. A shorter version with some vocals is at 2CD37D95. An alternative/remix version is at 38B30A7C.

The epic main theme is at 3CD50E64:

Assassin's Creed III has it's share of epic tunes too. Some highlights:
One for the late @Kreij!

Bastion, Terraria, Zelda (like mentioned before, the 25th anniversary CD is heaven, but any game in the series has amazing music), and I just noticed this, but the music in Awesomenauts is really good too.
Yup on Awesomenauts. Here's my fav:

any of the Final Fantasy XIV / ARR / HW tracks are awesome ... :)
otherwise ... hum ... i would say Mass Effect OST's are good for me too ...
and skyrim songs but only by Malukah/Gavin dun duo and/or Peter Hollens (official or not, duo or not, Lindsey Stirling in mind when i say duo ... ) not really OST but related ... i dare say

*shiver*

and they know how to put motivating tunes in major encounter ...

No game soundtrack thread would be complete without Hans Zimmer's (does many AAA movie compositions including the equally epic Black Hawk Down soundtrack) Crysis 2 theme song:
