Many of you are undoubtedly interested in seeing the naked core of a GeForce 8800 - the g33ks at VR-Zone have removed the IHS of one of their dead 8800 cards, below are the pictures:

meh not really, standard core just a little bigger.

dead 8800 card wonder how that happened

When are ATI brining out there new cards ?

Around mid January to the 1st of February.

Dead 8800 cards...they could've given me one instead of killing them.

That card looks really worked up :twitch:

Yep, half melted xD

yea lol dat was funny, i actualy lol'ed

off topic:: a new avatar for all the days in December...keep looken daily...

Heh heh - Rather be on that topic.

Back on the 8800 topic - too bad the pics don't reveal any text on the chip, what's up with that?

Nvidia must be very upset... websites showing DEAD G80's so early in their life...

AMD/ATI must be delighted...

Just I ask was thinking about MAKING THE SWITCH (r) (from ATI to nVidia) these pictures are sufficient to keep me with ATI a little bit longer.

lol that card looks like they tried to set records ocing the thing poor card :shadedshu no video card deserves that well maybe the MX series

its dead because it was probably clocked to death (otherwise why pull it apart) an r600 would die if you went overboard clocking that too, fanboy

i know this because one of my 9800 pro's lasted an hour!

I wonder who do not know that you can OC a card to death?

Btw, aparting from the MX series, the Geforce 7300 and 7100 series all deserves that XD

lol, how can u make such a assumption just by looking at a GPU? I just made the switch from ATi to nVidia with the 8800GTS and must say that this card really kicks ass. My only problem is poor driver support from nVidia...they not on par with ATi imo!

Also, i would like to see when the R600 will hard launch! I'm so tired of ATi paper launches....i got burned waiting for the x1800. I will switch back to ATi if its atleast 20% faster...otherwise no point.

And guys, don't be blinded by a brand! INTEL is tops atm and so is nVidia and thats coming form a AMD / ATi fanboy. Being a fanboy is a waste of loyalty :D
