What specifically makes gaming ram better for gaming ?

Where are the heat spreaders?

The DDR2 Black Dragons were decent sticks, performed well and looked good. Hope the DDR3 variety will do them justice or even surpass them.

LEDs increase framerate.

Ya, that's what I thought. Marketing BS. WOO! It says gaming on it, it must be better for gaming.

GeIL = Golden Emperor International Ltd.
Seriously.

Geil is also a Dutch word meaning horny.

Seriously!

EDIT: the Gamer tag that it has, increases your epeen.

And a German one aswell. We don't use it in the context of horny anymore tho, more in terms of "awesome".

Its bling bling RAM, but cool bling bling RAM, reasonably priced (at least the DDR2 versions were) and it performs good.

DDR3 Doesn't need heatspreaders even if they are 2000mhz. Mine don't even get remotely warm.

I have the DDR2 modules and they are the coolest running RAM I have ever owned. I personally think a lot of the cheaper heat-spreaders that are used are ineffective at best on most DDR2 modules. Please note I did not say all DDR2 modules.

tends to require high voltages, which means they cant market it for everyone since most of the PC's in the world dont let you change voltages :D

+1, that's why all the leet gamers have so much lighting on their case.

:roll:Indeed for some, lighting is more important than performance :D

I like how the picture states the quad channel set is shown.

Ymmm! Quad channel.

On a serious note, the DDR2 Black Dragons were fantastic from my own experience so I can only hope the DDR3 version(s) will be better.

Black Dragon Ram is supposed to be low latency gaming memory that doesn't get overclocked. It's for gamers who aren't going to overvolt their memory. Plus it has little dragon leds on it, which look badass (note sarcasm). But seriously it's supposed to be low latency performance memory.

Well I HOPE they last longer than the Golden Dragon DDR500 they used to sell, I've had TWO pairs go bad in the past.

Though the are true to thier word (thier support is responsive), I don't care about lifetime warranty if I have to ship memory all the way to Taiwan to get a replacement!

And yes, the LED's help framerates, as well as providing guidance to landing aircraft

Those sticks look soooooo badass. Despite that it could be just the lights, still pretty good.

I had DDR2 that could roast a turkey  My DDR3 is very very cool. The heatsinks are plastic i think  but the modules are cool even after being on for hours.

Come on guys, the LEDs are cool, no sarcasm.

I loved these memories.

I like LED ram. Its why I pick crucial ballistix all the time in my builds. This memory should work fine!
