GIGABYTE GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming Detailed Some More

I was just about to say the same thing.
I was looking forward to this card and would have been the card to get for me.

With orange and no backplate its a no go for me and i think i will go with the Asus Strix instead.

The G1 Gaming is pretty ugly as well so Gigabyte has really taken a huge step backwards in looks this time around.

The XTREME GAMING does have a backplate, but for some reason it isn't shown here. The XTREME card also has RGB lighting, it's not just orange.

Very interested to see how this sunken fan design performs, and yes, no backplate is quite disappointing.

It does have a backplate, it just isn't showed there for some reason.

Now that I have a card with backplate, it's really hard to go back to none. Even if it doesn't play any particular role, it's a protection when I'm fiddling inside the case while system is running. I can touch the graphic card from above and I'm sure I won't fry anything. And it looks nice and it's also easier to clean the dust.

It does have a backplate, but I guess they just didn't show it in that pic.

If you had scrolled down and looked, you would have noticed the picture with a backplate.

Pretty sure the standard is to push air from the case to the outside.
Reversing this would be blowing the warmed air from the radiator in to the case. :slap:

Maybe that isn't explained well. In order to get the fan mounted to the case(to draw air in), I had to put the fan on the opposite side of the radiator as the radiator inlet/outlet is vertical not horizontal. The radiator can only face one direction if you are wanting to draw air from outside the case.

Most of this has already been discussed with PM, but thanks for the feedback!
Please note I amended the first point - The radiator inlet/outlet being vertical was the issue - forcing the mounting to only be allowed one way.

I really wish Gigabyte releases a GTX 1080 with either Dual DVI's + HDMI or 2 HDMI ports + DVI; I have a 3 monitor setup that only uses VGA/DVI and HDMI, and I've only had back luck with DP adapters to HDMI.

Surprised that instead of all the different pre clock/cooling solution variants companies produce, that they'd focus more on different PCB features, layouts and connections instead.

The 1080 Xtreme Gaming can be set up to disable two DP and enable 2 additional HDMI on the back of the card. If you get the premium package it will come with a bracket and a front panel with 2 HDMI

I am going to buy 1080 Xtreme Gaming. Saw the presentation of Xtreme Gaming, but frequencies didn't declare also the number of phases of food why? whereas G1 gaming have shown everything at once. Tell please - whether I will be able to buy 1080 Xtreme Gaming in Europe at the end of June?

The official press release will be out today but you can see the power phases on our website already, it's 12+2.

I'm not sure when we will release the clock speeds.
Yes. The card will be available before the end of the month.

Thank you. I understand you do not have to say more, but try. https://www.computeruniverse.ru/products/90655214/gigabyte-geforce-gtx1080-g1-gaming.asp Now, if in this store G1 gaming worth 650 euros, I should be enough for 700 euros per standard pack. Thank you

That's great, thanks for letting me know!

So there will be a non-premium version too that will cost less?

I'm not sure when we will release the clock speeds.

What's with all this secrecy regarding the clock speeds?? I see that on ALL vendors. Is that a special request from nVidia? When the NDA will be lifted up?
Thanks.

On the website under specifications, it lists Memory Clock as 10010MHz, obviously this is incorrect.

With Carbonite freezing, any freqs is possible you silly!! :D

Hey guys, reading the reviews about this card on newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...73&cm_re=gigabyte_1080-_-14-125-873-_-Product
it seems like there is an issue with the fan hitting the "X" in the middle fan...is this something that will be corrected in the next batch?

From one reviewer, Mark M: "Cons: -The QC issue: So as another user has reported, the small X-bar on the front of the card is touching the middle fan. For now, I've been able to offset this issue by laying the case on its side, and I plan to manually fix this myself with a small screwdriver. I can imagine this being an issue for most as they probably don't want to screw with the fan housing at all."

Also, can you confirm, that the front 2 HMDI ports can be used with the rear HDMI port in "standard" mode to drive 3 HDMI monitors? The GB websites mentions that the front two are for VR mode. I don't want VR, just the ability to plug in my 3 HDMI monitors to all 3 HDMI ports. Thanks!

It's just a packing issue, not a building issue which is already solved.

Yes, 2 DP are disabled to enable the 2 HDMI. So 3 HDMI can be used at the same time.

Thanks for the reply and great to hear that on both; any idea of when it will be available again on Newegg? It was available for about 2 minutes on Newegg on June 17.
