Gigabyte released 2 other boards with this one. The 990FXA-UD5 R5 which does support the FX9000 Series cpu's. They also released new revisions of a couple other boards.

Maybe they know something we don't with the 3 new Am3+ boards and the revisions to the others on a supposedly dead platform.

And they're just as shitty as the one here who the hell needs 14 USB2.0 ports now a days I'd rather have 10 USB3.0/3.1 ports thanks

Wow ok then. I actually though the 990fxa board was pretty good for what it is. it's a better board then the 990xa board.

I do. I don't own a singe USB 3.0 device but I have piles and piles of 2.0 stuff and it's nice to have them work without having to download drivers.

It might have something to do with DX 12 and Mantle, both will maximise the potential of AMD products better and manufacturers are covering their bases to make sure they get a share of the profits.
There won't be a need to "upgrade" to the latest most expensive tech if older tech can keep up and be better utilized.
