GIGABYTE introduced a new line of compact desktops designed for serious gaming, the BRIX Gaming GT series. Measuring 276 mm x 384 mm x 128 mm (DxHxW), this desktop has the chops for gaming at 1440p or even 4K Ultra HD, although GIGABYTE is marketing this as the ideal desktop for VR gaming in the living room. Its case features a chimney-type common air channel that pushes hot air from top-vents. A 400W custom-design PSU powers the machine.

Under the hood is an Intel Core i7-6700K quad-core processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics, 32 GB of dual-channel DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM memory, a 240 GB M.2 SSD, an additional 1 TB 2.5-inch HDD, and a vacant 2.5-inch drive bay. Audio is care of a Realtek ALC1150 HDA codec, backed by TI Burr Brown OPA2134 AMP circuit over the headphones jack. Networking includes an Intel 3165NGW dual-band 802.11ac WLAN with dual Bluetooth 4.0 interfaces, and Killer E2400 gigabit Ethernet. Other connectivity includes two USB 3.1 ports (of which one is type-C), four USB 3.0 ports (of which one is type-C, total two type-C ports), and 6-channel audio. Windows 10 comes pre-installed. GIGABYTE didn't reveal pricing.

I would like to see stress temps

Another chassis that's useless for people whit pets, but good effort.

OMG gigabyte what are you doing? This is BRIX which should looks like a brick as usual. This... this is hideous and I bet this will get hot and throttled very quickly.
Zotac's Magnus series is smaller and have (from the looks) better airflow compared to this.

So the GPU is blowING down the base? S.M.A.R.T.!

That card has a top-flow cooler, it's blowing air in four directions, a small fraction of which is going down, yes.

When people see the temps, they'll sh1t BRIX

its no 2010, when GPU work HOT, look nowadays at GPU, work at silence and cold, sure i cant guarante about cpu, cuz not much size for normal cooler :/

still that gpu is dumping approx 150/180w directly in the chassis, I don't think the temps are going to be acceptable without any extracting fan

Who the hell at Gigabyte thought an open air cooler is a great idea in such a case. Where di they expect the fans to suck in and expel heat to. Their Twin Turbo series blower cards would've work better here.

It doesnt matter how efficient you GPU is, put it in a tiny box and it will overheat.

The airflow on this case is almost nonexistent. I am guessing near throttling temperatures, like every other pre made chassis out there.

Lets all get in our time machines and go back in time to when the 1080s were temp throttling in under 2seconds ... That thing is going to get warm, also y make it look like a new age PS3. I am betting that the huge curve is where the GPU and fans (if any) will be sitting.

A laptop that you can't even use as a laptop. What a pile of dung.

....dont see what the problem is.....coolest looking hepa-filter I've ever seen....even plays games.

a 400 watt psu aint gonna generate much heat and people are over quick to mouth off and assume gigabyte are idiots and dont know how to build a PC..

i am pretty sure they do.. far more so than some of the people making comment in this thread.. he he

trog

This.things bigger than a phat ps3 and its not even shaped like a brick, what were they thinking putting it under the brix name. -_-

I checked the images and specs... for no particular reason started to wonder - if a hard drive melts - should it be called a soft drive then?

Just like all those all-in-ones that are ovens?

Why?! I can guarantee the pricing is not going to be low enough for the average gamer to purchase, and given it's form factor and lack of (easy) upgradability will scare away hard-core enthusiasts. And then there is the heat issue.... ya thanks but no f'n thanks!

:toast:

Have fun selling high end desktop is such stupid design along with your fans with grind issues on top of it .

Considering the BRIX Gaming 760 PC they did throttled like a boss and overheats and is louder than satan's fart yes I would expect the possibility of Gigabyte screwing up this one too.

Did you mean 480s?

Looks like a mutated PS3 Super Slim.
