Pricing is everything. 8 GB declares the 7600s as 1080p cards and they'll need to be $250, maybe $300 for the XTs. I suspect Nvidia will charge another $100 on top of that, which seems like a non-starter.
The way things are going I don't know if anyone's gonna go 8GB on a new GPU for any price.

7600 XT replaces the entry level 6600 XT with rumors of $299 price. Pricey for an entry level but the 8GB is not a major deal for entry level, no one is buying it to play ultra settings
4060ti with 8GB at the rumored $399 (initially $499) is a joke as people do buy those cards to play at ultra settings
