GIGABYTE Outs GeForce RTX 2070 Gaming OC White Graphics Card

GIGABYTE extended its all-white trim to its third graphics card from the RTX 20-series, the RTX 2070 Gaming OC White (model: GV-N2070GAMINGOC WHITE-8GC). This follows similar trims for the RTX 2060 Gaming OC Pro White and RTX 2070 Gaming OC Pro White. As with the others, the card's USP is its mostly-white cooler shroud with chrome inserts, and a matching white metal back-plate. Contrasting them are a trio of 90 mm matte-black fans with chrome hub stickers, and the black PCB carried over from the original Gaming OC series.

As with the RTX 2070 Gaming OC, this card offers a factory-overclock of 1725 MHz boost, compared to 1620 MHz reference. The memory is untouched at 14 Gbps (GDDR6-effective). The cooler offers 0 dBA mode (idle fan-stop). The card draws power from a combination of 8-pin and 6-pin PCIe power connectors. Display outputs include three DisplayPort 1.4, one HDMI 2.0b, and a USB-C VirtualLink. Based on the 12 nm "TU106" silicon, the GeForce RTX 2070 offers 2,304 CUDA cores, 288 tensor cores, 36 RT cores, 144 TMUs, 64 ROPs, and a 256-bit wide GDDR6 memory interface, holding 8 GB of memory. GIGABYTE is offering a unique 4-year warranty with this card, if you register your purchase with them.

Its the same shoddy coolers that they put on their 1080Ti Gaming OC cards

I have the same card and i had to run the fans above 40% (more like 50%) above during gaming to keep it blow 60'c so it would hit just under 1800-1900mhz turbo and by that time it sounded like a jet engine.

I switched out the cooler with an Accelero Xtreme IV.

You are going to need to work those fans hard to keep that 2070 cool

Why the hell would you keep the temps below 60° instead of keeping noise levels low?
2070 is also easier to cool than 1080Ti.

Yep my thoughts exactly, and for the fan blades and bracket too..... sure I know it would have cost another $1.38 for the additional pigment/coating/paint, but at least then it would actually be a REAL "white" card.....

2070 is also easier to cool than 1080Ti.

Because 1080Ti's start thermal throttling above or close to 60'c which means you wont hit 2k on the boost.

GPU-Z tells me my boost clock is 1733mhz. but with Afterburner Overlay, i have seen it hit 2k and hold at 2k constantly with my Accelero cooler.

My strix throttles from 1999 to 1986-1973Mhz when it hits smth like 47-49C. So I HAVE to install afterburner or smth else if I wanna keep it at or above 2GHz.
Moreover, it seems like max possible factory boost of the card is 2025MHz, but...maybe its only achievable at 18C chip?

If you're able to keep your core clock above 2GHz with manual overclocking it doesn't really matter.

Well, I like to keep background app amount as low as possible - especially when it could interfere with working programs, like in case of MSI AB.

Notice as the air entering the fans got nowhere to go. I would throw out the fan shroud and install there some 92mm fans on zip-ties. I'll bet it would went down in temps into the Accelero territory for half the space and quarter of cost (not that it matters for someone buying 1080Ti). Anyway, Windforce is probably the worse OEM-aftermarket cooling I've ever HEARD.

It seemed to move quite a lot of air when the fans were ramped up. Part of the issue with the cooler is that part of it makes direct contact with the VRMs so its not just the GPU that the cooler has to deal with but also the heat from the VRMs.

Since it is a cut down windforce cooler. its lacking more heatpipes.

Its just totally inadequate to cool the 1080Ti. With the Accelero it doesnt break 55'c and remains pretty silent. I could of modded the stock cooler but i was lazy i guess. Strapping two 120mm fans on it would of been great if not very ugly.

well they used these coolers on 1070s and 1080s without the memory dying so im sure they will be fine.

Secondly i use GB stuff. In fact my 1080 is my first GB card. i do have an 7800GT on the shelf though but but that was given to me some years ago
