Yeah but compare to the current SFF champion, the Nano. It came out at £550+. In that sense it's not so bad.
yes, i know i had the same thought when the nano came out.. they are both niche products anyway.. it just looks weird to me bc they are so small, its like buying jewelry..

Is that a Cooltek case? Mine cannot fit cards larger than 250mm. Running the predecessor 970 Mini right now.
Mine is LianLi Q11B. Looks very similar from the inside, but misses a front fan, HDD bottom rack and ODD top rack...
Cooltek U2 looks almost identical to LianLi Q01, except the placement of a power button, so I can safely speculate that your case is also made by LianLi

I really dont understand what the point of these tiny cards is.

There are very few mini itx cases that need a card this short, and the ones that do need a short card cant use a card that goes so far above the expansion slot.

It's nice that gigabyte is making it, and their 1070 and 1080 full size cards are fantastic, but I dont see the point of this one.

The point of this card is for the aforementioned itx cases. While they are not fully mainstream, they are plentiful and well used. Most have enough room for this card. And this card will provide for a performance upgarde for many users of itx products. However, people like me who use normal atx boards will use two of these in SLI. The reasons for such usage are simple, better case airflow dynamics, better heat control and quiet operation. Overclocking will be limited, yet this type of card will not appeal to the extreme overclocker. Just one of these cards will be enough to play most games at high settings at 1080p or 1440p. Two will knock most games out of the park.
