Google has launched what is essentially a mobile internet cafe called the Internet Bus, to go around India providing poorer people, experience and education in using the internet. Using a high speed connection via what appears to be satellite, the vehicle has the words "Explore the World of the Internet" along the sides, it has not been cheaply done either. The whole vehicle appears to be a custom build, with large flat screen monitors, custom stands and lots of pretty lights. It has been said by the source, that the amount of people in India who are officially below the poverty line, is nearly as much as the total population of the USA. A video advertisement has also surfaced on YouTube, which you can find here.

They can spend all that money but cant seem to get wireless mouses and keyboards..Hrm

Nooo! Its so keyboards and mice dont get lost and or stolen in the first place... Duhhhh....

Looks like X to the Z pimped someone's caravan to the extreme.

This is not a new concept, this "Internet Bus" is done in several countries, I've seen them myself when I traveled to South America and it's done by their major ISP's over there.

Still, I guess Google feels somewhat generous?

Wow, they even wrote in 1n7ern3t speak on the side above the doorway. Classy.

that is the coolest thing I've ever seen.... I want one,lol would be fun

Would you consider moving to India for it and relinquishing all your funds for it?

OH YES! This will surely help the poor people! Now they will know their rightful place amongst the poor, and will bask in the light of the "more civilised" people over the internet. What a pathetic attempt from google to attract attention. If I was one of those unfortunate people I would spit on their Internet Bus.

I wholeheartedly agree. These people need food, shelter.. not a fancy tech-vehicle they wouldn't know what to do with and would only be able to use for a few seconds, leaving them never to return.

Yep kind of reminds me of missionaries the ultimate do gooders who end up doing no good at all and patronise ppl.

just like a mobile library except has pcs and internet connections
might be good for people to find jobs online ect or do learning

dunno but they need proper centres i think like learning centres with internet access

only thing if people cant afford a pc why would they steal a mouse

dont just assume people will steal the buses they might but they might not as well

Oh, don't remind me. Instead of curing diseases and ending famine they build places of warship pertaining to the religions they believe in, in an unscrupulous act of evil.

Was the word warship on purpose because if it was then kudos to you, I like that :D

Pretty cool. I feel like it might be a bit too colorful though. Might scare some people away. But a good idea nonetheless

They should have food, water, beds and medicine on the bus. Far more important for poor people than googling the internet. These poor people probably cant type or use a mouse.

I agree with others here. Cheap form of "do-good-er" advertising. It helps noone but themselves :slap:

Not unless the bus get hijacked and turned into a shelter. Then it would really help a few.
