The global graphics processing unit (GPU) market 2016-2020 report says the increasing adoption of integrated GPUs over discrete GPUs is one of the major trends witnessed in the global GPU market. Currently, there is increasing adoption of integrated GPUs, which are used in notebooks, desktops, and workstations across the globe.

This increasing adoption is mainly attributed to the growing need of enhanced visual content by end-consumers. In addition, end-consumers are demanding high memory graphics in their systems. In order to meet such demands, graphic processor vendors are providing high graphics through integrated GPUs. Thus, the increasing adoption of integrated GPUs over discrete GPUs is one of major trends that is propelling the growth of the market. Complete report on graphics processing unit market spread across 58 pages, analyzing major companies and providing 30 data exhibits is now available here.

The analysts forecast global graphics processing unit (GPU) market to surpass 67.61 million units during the period 2016-2020. According to the graphics processing unit market report, increasing demand for high memory GPU will be a key driver for market growth. The growing number of PC games supplemented by the increasing graphic requirements for these PC games have led to more demand for high memory graphic cards. This demand has forced graphic processor vendors to increase their production of GPUs that are compatible with high memory graphics, thereby propelling the growth of the global graphics processing unit market.

According to this graphics processing unit market research and analysis, the notebooks segment will dominate this industry throughout the forecast period and has accounted for more than 63% of the total market shares during 2015. Though the growing popularity of smartphone gaming, the declining average selling price (ASP) of gaming consoles, and the high price of gaming laptops, will affect the adoption of laptop gaming, the high sales of notebooks that come integrated with GPUs will drive the growth of this market segment.

This graphics processing unit market study predicts that in terms of geography, APAC will account for almost 38% of the total market shares by the end of the forecast period and will also dominate the market throughout the next four years. The increasing demand for laptops due to their reduced ASPs and the recent increase in unit shipments of notebooks to countries such as Singapore and Japan due to the presence of technology-driven customers and gamers will drive the growth of the graphics processing unit market in this region.

The following companies are the key players in the global graphics processing unit (GPU) market: AMD and NVIDIA. Order a copy of Global Graphics Processing Unit Market 2016-2020 report here.

this is right up AMD's alley. if zen is what the hype is making it to be, we could see something similar to what the Athlon did to the market.

Will any one be fool enough to pay 2500$ to read AMD fanboy fantasy?
In the last two to three years a trend of putting a small dGPU (80-90% nVidia) with integrated GPU (80-90% Intel) become more popular, that is why you can find a laptop with 500$ price tag with core i5 and GTX 930/940 and if you look carefully you can pay 600-700$ for last generation Core i5 with GTX 950 and some extra for GTX 960, you can pay 1200$ for GTX1060 and 1500$ for GTX 1070, you should remember that you pay for 1080P panel and Li-ion battery. That is for laptops.
By the way the modern ultra books started including dGPUs like surface pro since cooling GPU (at least for nVidia cards) and power draw become less and less of a problem.
Are these geniuses talking about the decline market of tablets or the troubled phones market, maybe they are talking about the cornered game consoles makers which forced to lunch a new generation in about two years from the lunch of the previous one, maybe they are talking about how consoles exclusive titles becoming less and less exclusive or how consoles makers start selling USB dongles to connect their game controllers to PC because sell part of the game console is better than nothing.
Finally every body know that you can pay 500$ to put decent (Intel, nVidia) HTPC beside your TV.
By the way if you have 2500$ to burn you may consider this as option https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZ5Z4EJ/?tag=tec06d-20 I payed 1630$ for this to enjoy 4K gaming between my travels.

The article is about GPUs.

do you get my point now or do you need further explanation?

i think you are a bit out of touch with reality.

on steam intel has 17.56% of all gpus, let alone the fact that most people do not game or game very casually. also why do you think intel is updating its gpus with every new gen of cpus? they have seen the future, and like it or not the future is integrated for the vast majority of the users.

That is great because that mean 46.78% of people play using workstations with 2 cpus, 46.48% of people play using 4 cpus servers and 4.55% of people playing with what? HPCs! Maybe Quantum computers?

of people in steam, which as we all know the whole planet is subscribed to, oh wait..

also, lets check how demanding the top 5 most populous games are..

yeah, look mate, i dont think that dota, csgo, tf, ark or football manager are the pinnacle of graphically demanding titles.

Sorry Friend I don't question Steam I question how reliable the people who joint the survey, people who don't know the difference between number of cores and number of CPUs are not good source for facts.

You DO know that Steam scans your hardware for survey right? They never let end user "report" their own spec directly

depending on how the queries are run, windows can report real and HT cores as CPUs

this^
also, my point was that the most populous steam games don't need a discrete GPU to play them.

I think it describes cores there, not sockets. Dual socket motherboards are not that much popular to have 47% of the market.
