GPU usage 99% idle

Good afternoon, I have a RX 6800 xt from GIGABYTE that seems to be in good condition but I have a problem. At idle it remains at 99%. I already did a clean installation of Windows and the problem continues.

He seems fine but I'm worried about this behavior. In the task manager, between 1 - 5% is out of use in idle but the minimum consumption is reflected high in rest, including the use in other applications such as adrenalin or even in the MSI afterburner @oxrufiioxo

LG 144 hz 24GN60R connected with a displayport cable, i had a 6700 xt before and it never happened this problem

On your fresh windows install, if this problem occurred after installing AMDs radeon software, go into settings and disable 'desktop recording' and see if that solves the issue. If not, in the same settings page disable 'instant replay' and 'in game replay'. See if that helps.

Could you try turning off the VRR/FreeSync/Adaptive-Sync function on the monitor, check the usage and report back to us here.

The game is minimized. but here in the task manager it is always low on idle of course, which is the strange thing

LOL yeah Microsoft Edge is annoying in this regard. But to its slight defense I do have 42+ tabs open with around 15 or so recently active.

So it only shows high GPU usage within GPU-Z and the Adrenalin app? Your first GPU-Z screenshot in the first post shows the GPU core itself is doing some work but not loading the VRAM at all (although maybe its only loading around 1 GB of data).

Only HWMonitor, GPU-Z and Adrenalin shows the 99% usage and high core clock on idle. I don't know if im running a good vbios. this is the vbios and a picture of hwmonitor.

I try to hibernate the pc for 30 seconds, then i turned on and the usage turns down to 0 - 3% with the power consumption at 14w (before was more than 40w), I dont know that is the problem lol

Just a hunch to try. Disable ASPM for pci-e in bios. worth a try. I've seen it cause all kinds of weird stuff.

Won't hurt anything, and you can always turn it back on if you desire.

I just turn on the resize BAR on the BIOS and that seems to fix the problem. I Will test for a few days, thank you guys

Pull the card and reseat it firmly and squared in the slot, make sure the motherboard is exactly parallel on the back edge of the case , any improperly aligned component can be making weak contact.

Have you even updated the motherboard bios?

Yes, I already checked that it was well connected. The motherboard has the updated BIOS
