The steam version is around 60GB.

I posted its working finally, just took for ever with the down load. Yeah I re started several times just in case, but all is well it's working!!! THANKS ALL!!!

Have you tried resetting your modem or router? 175 KB/s is very slow especially when downloading that massive file directory or the large patches. My best guess is that it actually is rockstars' fault and something was conflicting somewhere

Anybody else having issues getting GTA to run on Windows 10? My game crashes 2-5 minutes into a session. No error codes are given. Event viewer says GTAV.exe is the faulting module every time. Happens online and offline. I have no problem running any other games, Farcry 4, Witcher 3, Dragon Age Inquisition all run fine.

Well I must say,

Swapping to this new i5 4690k has been great, especially for this game.

Instead of the constantly shifting FPS from 35-55FPS mostly on my FX 8350,

I am now able to have run on the same settings as before and litterally its rare if my FPS even moves from 59.

For people who are experiencing some stuttering while playing, I suggest trying to disable V-Sync in game, and enable it through the Nvidia Control panel, also, in MSI Afterburner's Riva Tuner, I set the FPS Limiter to 58.... The FPS counter in game seems to be 1-2 off. This allows my game to cap out at 59FPS constantly, and something even better I have noticed is that my Frametimes do not MOVE from 17.2 MS which is amazing.... Never seen such a steady frametime reading for so long. All of this is translating to a smooth playing experience (Finally )

Can someone explain the GTA online situation to me please? I recently purchased 5, and I wanna know if I can host my own server...pick which servers to join, I see all kinds of great vids on Utube done online, but I get on and some ass in a armored car kills me within 10 seconds. please let me know what options are available to me IF you know the answer.

and just to add, I did look around online, but I seem to keep coming up with Very dated material, or material concerning the wrong version of GTA,e.g. console(im PC obviously). im not lazy, im just working, and not able to locate a definitive answer to my question @ this moment, So if you are reading this , and dont mind answering my question id MUCH appreciate it.

There are no servers. You just join lobbies randomly created by the Rockstar system; usually infested with cheaters.
The only thing you can do is either play solo online (noone can join you), or friends only (if you have someone to play with).
I wouldn't waste €40+ on the game if I was to make the choice again.

Well......

First off the single player is great. I haven't finished it yet but the voice acting is awesome and its just a lot of fun.
Second the online portion is a riot! TPU has a few regulars that play together. Mainly cadaveca, reayth, erocker, taco and me. I even have a "cheater" on my friend list and when he shows up we fly around in a chrome bus while clones of ourselves poll dance with green hair.

You are more than welcome to join us on the TPU TeamSpeak server anytime you like.

This is why GTA 5 is kinda a fail to me.... The overall shell of the game is great.... Story mode is fun.... But honestly once you have completed the story mode missions and your at the end of the game. ITS OVER. Theres 0 endgame after the story mode is complete.... Yeah you can run around and derp forever, but seriously they messed up big time not allowing custom private servers with custom mods....

Right now in my game i probably have 15 cars swapped for modded real life models, also a realistic top speed/handling mod. Along with 20 extra purchasable garages scattered across the entire map.

There are quite a few great mods that add life to the game, but most of the time they are buggy and are more of a hassle than anything.

Truly dissappointing not allowing private custom servers.
