What CPU "ready to rumble" would we need then? :p

That's exactly what I asked the screen as I read that. I want to know what this ready to rumble CPU is so I can buy it. I would think a 6600K or 6700K skylake would be ready to rumble.

Yeah lol :D
We need that "ready to rumble" CPU :D

I haven't seen a dip below 60 fps @ 1440p on any game since last week when I put this 1080 in. Running everything stock. EZ mode. :D

I haven't used OC mode either with my games yet, running at 60fps as well (except with benchmarking), mine stays cool and quiet during gaming, around 50s max, 40~45 average.:D
And it's summer here!!

Buying 1080 Sea Hawk real soon, cant wait.

I only overclocked for benchmarking purposes. As soon as I was done I started running the card at stock speeds. Even so I have not had a single game go below 60 fps either. This card is a beast.

If I remember correctly, a while ago @btarunr had a post about a MSI GTX1070 Gaming Z card?
Can't seem to find it anymore!
Where is it?

Where is this card?

I haven't seen any. Normally hardware leads the way, and games follow. I reckon we will be well into the new card lifecycle before we start seeing a lot of games recommending higher level Maxwells. More than likely middle-grade.

Hell, I still see games reccomending Fermi cards... lol

MSI announces GeForce GTX 1070 and 1080 Gaming Z

With a Z not an X. MSI is proud to unleash the ultimate premium Pascal-powered graphics cards. The exclusive MSI GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING Z 8G and MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING Z 8G cards are the fastest clocked versions available from MSI.

As the last character of the alphabet, Z also represents the final form of MSI GAMING graphics cards. Rocking the award-winning TWIN FROZR VI thermal design with supreme cooling power allows the GAMING Z cards to have extreme core and memory clock speeds out of the box. The renowned shapes of the eye-catching TWIN FROZR cooler are intensified by a fiery red GAMING glow piercing through the cover. A completely new custom 10-phase PCB design using Military Class 4 components with an 8+ 6-pin power connectors enables higher overclocking performance to push your graphics card to the max.

Besides making the cards more rigid, the classy matte black backplate of GAMING Z cards feature an RGB LED shield which, together with the MSI GAMING dragon RGB LED on the side can be set to any of 16.8 million colors to reflect your mood or build.

MSI’s new TWIN FROZR VI Thermal Design raises the bar of Graphics Card air cooling. TORX Fan 2.0 is the enhanced version of the patented TORX Fan technology which generates 22% more air pressure for better cooling performance while further reducing noise levels. The new fans are equipped with Double Ball Bearings to ensure lasting smooth and silent operation. Connected to the huge heatsink are 8mm copper heat pipes with a squared shape at the bottom for optimal heat transfer from the solid nickel-plated copper baseplate combined with premium thermal compound X to keep the Pascal powerhouse cool.

Hey guys,

I ended up pulling the pin on a pair of GTX 1070's.

I thought the one GTX 1080 wouldn't be enough for 4K.

Will be posting some picture's in Your PC ATM as both are on blocks :)

I think you made a good choice to go with a pair of GTX1070s for 4K!

I bought a 1080.

Reviews were having me second guess my purchase but since I plan on doing VR development and gaming (and since I saw this thread) I'm thinking I did right by getting the current beast).

Then maybe when we see a price drop I can SLI and I'm sure that will be enough for 3 years time.
