Help: Asus Prime X670-P WiFi won't update bios (What motherboard replacement?)

Armory crate and MyASUS are different things.

For the sake of experiment get it from Microsoft store and run customer support section - live update.

You can skip all credentials and don't fill anything, it should work.

If EZ Flash from Windows doesn't work either it asks for a reboot and when I reboot it just have a black screen and bios flashback just gives an read error on 2 different usb thumb drives I am not sure that keep installing bad software from Asus will help when their own flashing tool don't.

I think a external flasher might work but I don't have access to that so I will return it when week when I get the replacement and If that don't work either I guess the Asus Prime X670-P WIFI ain't a board I can use.

I update few of ASUS devices each day... not sure how you imagine EZ Flash3 looks like a windows form. It just an executable that writes boot code to execute built in flasher on boot. Using BIOS Flashback you can crossflash anything really, it does not care as simply your LPC controller whatever this board has just wakes up and SPI flashes the ROM blindly. It is just really picky about drives and modes as it is really a low level task. Same applies to Gigabyte, it is really something else you have there.

The only case when really EZ flash refuses to work is when you pick a wrong device model. Using MyASUS mitigates it as you cannot download the wrong one as it uses device serial number for search. And you have to enable it in BIOS to work, at least for while.

Also there are two boards. I haven't found what's the difference, just looked into support page.

The box and the board lists Prime X670-P WIFI and when I put in the serial number for the support ticket it also showed up as Prime X670-P WIFI so unless that Asus has mixed it up in the factory and actually packed the CSM version I doubt it will work but well I got nothing to lose.

On the support site I go to the CSM version and I get the same version as the non-CSM what's going on Asus?

CSM stands for corporate version. Not sure it has some additional magic strings.

How? I am on bios 0809 that’s the bios my board was delivered with and the next is 0823.

I don’t see anything in the middle to flash to so how can I go incrementally?

For the lulz you could flashback the first version and then do update again.

I have tried all 3 versions, the first, the current in my boards and the newest it refuses on any of the usb thumb drives I have to read from goes to read error.

I have already ordered a new board should be here Tuesday or something next week.

my plan is the following
1. Install the motherboard with cpu, ram and cpu cooler.
2. Check the bios version if it’s 0809 I will try to update it if ez flash in the bios still down work and bios flashback I might just go with another board.

Okay, I just picked up my new Asus Prime X670-P WiFi and used the same Kingston DataTraveler 32GB formated as FAT32 in MBR and the bios flashback just works so I guess it's a motherboard issue after all.
