HI Guys, a status update

Did my last mid-term on Friday; school has been hectic. Multiple assignments due every week, little-to-no class time to do them, so little-to-no time for reviews.

However, did manage to get a new ride:

Life just got a fair bit easier. Still got to work out scheduling between myself and my kids, and travelling, of course.

Yeah, the Journey is a much smaller Grand Caravan. Getting a Journey with 7 seats is a bit more expensive that I had expected. Since it's a Journey we hit, I'm not that fond of them, but I got to say, for a car that rolled several times, it handled that pretty well.

Say what? I pay 40% income tax (higher rate), 20% Value added tax on pretty much all goods purchased, a thing we like to call "National Insurance" which supposedly pays for my state old age pension, well I reckon I must be due for one big state pension as I have been paying £200 - £250 each month for 38 years so far...... ohhh wait, the max I could get is £113 per week at the age of 67 if I live that long, but if my wife is still alive that goes down as we would both be getting some Additionally we pay a thing called "council tax", this is around £2500 per year for the local road maintenance and waste bin emptying. Add to that Road tax for the pleasure of owning a car and a shit load of other state enforced charges and it don't make good reading.

Apologies for turning this thread into a cost of living supplement, great to hear things are improving for you and the family Dave!

Because you're on the high end of the pay scale, the rest of us peons pay 20% tax because we have jobs with rather average wages in order to pay 40% tax you have to be earning between £31,000 and £150,000! Thank god you're not on the 45% tax scale, otherwise you might be running a better PC But I agree, our VAT is among the highest, not to mention the wonderful bedroom tax and congestion charges and the extra VAT on top of cooked food!

I been in the 40% for more than 20 years, too far into it so they suck even more.
