No offense VSG, but I think that you were a little unfair towards these headphones. First of all they are currently $109 on Amazon.... Really!!! Planars for $109... Secondly, they are now being packaged with upgraded rubber cables, that are actually pretty good.
In my opinion they sound pretty good out of the box, but if you have Peace and Equalizer then a little EQ can help make these even better.
Try:
Preamp: -3.0 dB
Filter 1: ON PK Fc 20 Hz Gain 6.0 dB Q 1.0
Filter 2: ON PK Fc 37 Hz Gain 1.8 dB Q 1.0
Filter 3: ON PK Fc 1950 Hz Gain 4.5 dB Q 3.0
Recommended with external Dac/Amp. I have the AKM version of the FiioK5 Pro that works well, but I am thinking of upgrading to Topping DX3 Pro +. If anyone wants my Fiio K5 pro (boxed and as new), I'll sell cheaply
