The lack of a proper cold plate where the heatpipes are in direct contact with the die is the absolute worst because the contact is guaranteed to be extremely uneven, gigabyte has been doing this for years, horrible practice.Survey says... Cooler sucks!!!
I agree. I have a cooler master cpu cooler that is made like this and it works great but there are no giant gaps between the pipes and the CPU has a IHS so the pipes (and gaps) are not in direct contact with the core die..The lack of a proper cold plate where the heatpipes are in direct contact with the die is the absolute worst because the contact is guaranteed to be extremely uneven, gigabyte has been doing this for years, horrible practice.
This is a case where ptm9750 would probably make a huge difference.
