The banner for the Hitachi Press Event RSVP proclaims "1.5 is coming." Below is a screen shot taken. Knowing that it is hard disk related, we can now quickly assume that 1.5TB storage solutions from Hitachi GST will be on display at the Consumer Electronics Association (CES) show next year. The CES 2008 will take place in Las Vegas - January 7-10, 2008.

Holy Crap!!!! I wish I could afford these uber drives. (Hell, even a couple of 1TB drives would be nice. lol) I wonder what the platter density of these will be?

hmm..

this may be just me... but isnt it entirely possible that when they say 1.5 is coming.. they mean 1.5".. instead of 2.5" or 3.5"? smaller hard drive? not bigger?

just my thoughts

If it is the 1.5tb then wow youd think hitachi would keep pushing the envelope.

I can bet you five bucks that this thing is going to be delayed...

Why even bother, 1tb is enough now guys. They should really focus on SSD's more. 1.5tb is nice, but come on... how bout some solid state?

I already have over 2TB used across numerous drives. I back up all of my DVDs and HD DVDs to my hard drives.
