playing this game, using RT will not as good as not using RT, also, playing this in my PC, memory usage average is 21-25gb (using MSI AB OSD)...... ??

Yep it will use up to ~24GB if given the space however it runs fine in my i7-6700K Optiplex MT with only 16GB and an RTX 3050-6GB. Bit choppy in a few NPC-heavy areas in the castle and Hogsmeade thanks to CPU-bound but otherwise well-behaved when constrained to 16GB.

I have a weird bug in the game now, where the advanced graphics settings in the menu is now blank. It's apparently a common enough problem to have a few pages of comments on Steam. No guaranteed solution to fix it currently, as some say even a reinstall doesn't clean it up. It's a relatively new bug, and the developer has acknowledged the issue, so there's hope.

Using RT in this game is just a crash fest. Looks cool for a few seconds to take some screenshots but not really a usable feature IMO.

It will be a long time before I’m on the RT bandwagon. You have to spend so much and give away a lot just to get something playable. When I look at various games I’ve played over the years, it’s amazing how some games can look beautiful and run at 1440p at high settings, while others just run like garbage on high and don’t really look all that much better to me. At least not so much better that it’s worth spending 5-10x more for the hardware.

I've had the same experience. Hell, even Tomb Raider Anniversary from 2007 has amazing lighting with my OLED monitor, no RT needed imo if game developers just be clever about game design.

imo OLED is the real GOAT, it transforms every game I play, its mindblowing, no desire for RT at all

I have been meaning to do a second playthrough as I thoroughly enjoyed the game.

I don't have an OLED, but I did buy a Hisense 4K Gaming TV a few months ago. I was playing on a 1080/60 TV that was over a decade old, so it's a massive improvement in every way. Playing at 144Hz with HDR made me wonder why I took so long to upgrade.

yeah, eventhough with RAM usage 24gb, playing with all ultra graphic+dlss quality+NO RT, sometimes, playing the game is still not as smooth as i have though before, of course its much smoother than using RT ultra all.

so, its normal behaviour from this game when playing, RAM usage is 21-25gb ?

yeah, i want to have that OLED+HDR 4K, but i am still worried about burn in on OLED LCD monitors....

because, i have often sleeping while playing the games, or using my PC just for playing songs (MP3), idle all night from midnight into morning, so i will sleep into the morning, but usually screensaver will automatically turn ON, but sometimes the screensaver will not Turn ON or Turn OFF automatically.....

Here's a good one. I've messed around playing this game on an Ivy Bridge E 2667v2 and RX 480 8GB. I have to set the render to 50%, but no FSR. Indoors, I can get up to the 60FPS cap, but outdoors is a bit more painful, at about 30FPS. The game looks playable, other than some water glitches, but we're talking some really old hardware here.

It is gorgeous though and I definitely enjoyed it from a story and side quest perspective. I think performance is a really important metric with just about anything PC related, but I think it can get taken too far. Not that your results arent impressive it just made me think. The game is fantastic imo and worth the hours.

Yeah, I've almost started a thread about what is sufficient for gaming. One can spend under $500 on the primary hardware components and get a playable experience with settings turned down. Wanting to max out settings or bump the resolution or use RT? The amount of money you need to spend, along with the extra power consumed and heat expelled, it really starts becoming a question of value. If the game looks great but the play and concept sucks, then it really doesn't matter. Dollars per frame is an okay relative metric, but it's flawed. How much do you need to spend to enjoy playing. I made it through most of Forbidden West on that 2667v2 and a 5600XT. While it could certainly have looked better, it was still an amazing game that played just fine most of the time.
