How long to leave a wet motherboard?

If you happen to know someone with a vacuum chamber big enough send the thing up to 60000 feet.
We used to do this with cameras that got in water: If salt water put it in fresh water ASAP. Then put it in a pressure cooker attach the cooker to the intake of an air compressor and run for 24 hours. Then send camera in for a professional clean, lubricant adjust.
Obviously a MB is too big but for smaller components this method will pull the water out. If you happen to have the tools handy

Contact cleaner does contain Isopropyl alcohol, but it also contains n-hexane, another solvent that also promotes rapid evaporation - a good thing. The rest of the content is made up of propellent to push it out of the can.

Bottles of Isopropyl alcohol are typically 70% or 91-93% alcohol, with the remainder of the content being water. I don't like using water, regardless the concentration, on electronics. If nothing else, water does not evaporate quickly and therefore can leave spots of residue.

The machine works perfectly and apart from being a lucky b**tard, I'd forgotten how long it takes to rebuild from scratch and quite how relaxing it is.
If I'm not heard from for a while, look for me on the roof.
