would appreciate if someone could help.
so, Ive got asus pq5 deluxe mobo with two gtx 8800 on sli mode.
I installed a patch and the latest nvidia(275.33) drivers.
Every time I access nvidia control panel and press enable sli mode drivers got deleted and pc needs to be restarded and drivers installed again.
Ive got win 7 64.
What's the problem?
Thanks in advance.

Do you have Sli patch 1.5 installed?

With the issues that you are describing it seems that Sli patch 1.5 isn't properly installed...
I'm saying this because that is one of the protections of the 275.xx drivers, you trying to get Sli enable and the driver crashes and nv control panel gets uninstalled... that was solved by anatolymik in the 1.5 version.

What you could try, if you haven't done it already, is uninstalling Slipatch and the drivers.
Then install Slipatch, reboot and install the drivers again.

Is it possible to make this work with a 9800GX2? I know it's contained on one card but it is technically SLI. I have a GA-EX58-DS4 motherboard and I've installed SLIPatch 1.5 but I'm still only showing one card :-(

9800GX2 doesn't require an SLI supported board. There must be some other problem.

Agree you must have other problems. With a X58 board you shouldn't need a patch to use sli with that card.
My GTX295 ran in X48 platform without a patch.

Use GPUZ to check if both cards are showing "one could be dead?"
Get the latest drive installed without any patches.
Might have to start fresh with a clean OS install. BTW what OS are you using?

Hi Guys,

Just went thru the last 50 pages of posts hoping to find some answers.
I'm trying to get SLI to work on my system.
Installed all the drivers from 266.xx and up. Latest 275.33 (even tried the beta 275.50)
Even tried to install the latest SliPatch 1.5. But nothing seems to work.
I tried everything from switching cards, first booting with 1 card. restart. add the second one.
Mobo bios update. Clean windows install again. reset CMOS.
Clean everything up again. safe mode. driver sweep. install everything again.
SLI shows up in NVCP every time , but it hangs when I try to enable it. 800x600 story.
And back from the top again.

Bridge connected of course.

Both cards work fine. They also support me with some 3d rendering. So I know they work fine.

Help would be much appreciated... thanks in advance..

Peter.

My system:

Win 7 Ultimate
Asus p8p67pro
2 x MSI GTX 560-M2D1G5
16g Corsair
1TB WDHD
Corsair PSU TX750

Most if not all p67 based motherboards have hardware sli support, like the x58 based ones. Slipatch is not required on these boards, and probably will just cause problems. So uninstall slipatch, reboot, and enable sli!

Psilonaut, I have the exact same motherboard, and have no issues enabling sli. You may need to uninstall slipatch, uninstall your driver, run a driver cleaner app, then reinstall the driver, then slipatch again. I'll try to think of some other things that may work as well...

@Johnspack: thanks for the reply. But that wasn't possible. Tried that a million times.
I tried the patch as an alternative of the things that could be a sollution.

I did sort of found the problem. It had to do with windows 7 activation.

Uninstalled loader. enabled SLI. reinstalled loader.

regards,

Peter.

This sounds kind of like a last ditch effort, no? Why not just simply re-install the driver? Last time i heard of this kind of thing being pushed to the brink there were some severe issues with the system as a whole and data recovery was in line for the next couple of days which is never any fun. Have you guys heard anything about www.coop-systems.com?

because if you do that the problem will still be sitting there, if you clean out the driver first and then re-apply it will probably get it right this time, this is common practice, and to be honest if you dont know this stuff, then dont question it, just do it and we will get this fixed for you.

or you can give up ;)

The Asus P8P67 Pro has SLI support, no patch required, if SLI is not working then it might be the board. http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=59317&vpn=P8P67%20PRO%20REV%203.0&manufacture=ASUS go down the page to just above the specs and it says. P8P67 PRO brings multi-GPU configurations through both SLI™ and CrossFireX. This motherboard features the powerful Intel® P67 platform, optimizing PCIe allocation in multiple GPU setups. Expect a brand new gaming sensation like you’ve never experienced before!

"unable to get boot information"

hello,
everytime i activate my SLI in the nvidia driver panel, the driver (275.33) crashes, so i wanted to reinstall the newer version of SLI Patch.

If i start the SLI Patch as admin, the programm starts but the install button is grey with the message "unable to get boot information". I also tried to assign a letter for the C Drive (its explained here in this thread) but i didnt help.
i also tried cmd->chkdsk at startup (tip from this thread) and it also didnt work for me.

anyone know how to fix this?

i have a Asus Rampage Formula X48 Chipset Motherboard, with 2 GTX 460 and the latest Nvidia Driver.

Tried it to install in the normal Windows 7 entry, at startup ,and also in the SLI entry.

afaik the problem started if i deactivated the SLI in the nvidia-driver, cause of some problem in dow2, and after activating again, the driver crashed all the time.

edit:
i also tried the tip from Post 5730, uninstall driver -> install slipatch -> install driver, with reboot between. the message "unable to get boot information" dont let me install or uninstall anything with that installer help :(

You problably have some kind of issue in your boot.
Try this guide:
http://www.briteccomputers.co.uk/forum/tutorials-and-how-to/how-to-fix-mbr-in-windows-vista/
Use the 3 commands:
bootrec.exe /fixmbr
bootrec.exe /fixboot
bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd

It should remove the sli patch entries of your boot, if it works install Sli Patch again reboot and install the driver next.

Btw next time you want to disable Sli for a specific game just select use Single Gpu in the game settings in Nv control panel to avoid problems ;)

I did some research on the P67 motherboards, and apparently there have been many reports of issues with sli support for some reason. So I guess for some, the slipatch is the only solution. Interesting! Sure glad I'm only stepping up to the x58 platform for now....

That's very strange. Although, you shouldn't try to install the nvidia drivers in safe mode, and don't need safe mode to install slipatch either. Just for the cleaning out. Is your windows up to date? Latest directx installed? All the dotnet stuff up to date? If that's the case, then could be a problem with your windows install. Let's see if anyone else has any ideas....

No, that wouldn't be it, plus if you use something like afterburner, it will set both cards to the same clocks, but no, that's not the issue. Very strange as I've sli-ed 2 gtx260s and 2 gtx285s on the same mobo you have now, and it just installs and works for me! Although I don't think it's needed for pre gtx4xx series cards, do you have a sli bridge installed? I never take mine off, so not sure if that's an issue with newer drivers or not.

Sli patch ever worked in your computer?
Did you try an older patch older driver version combo? Like Sli Patch 1.0 and 260.99 driver? Does it work?
Both cards work independently?
Did you try switching the cards around? With and whithout the sli bridge?
What anti-virus are you using?
Tried a clean windows install?

Anyone tried driver set 280.19 yet with sli patch 1.5?

If so... was SLI a problem?
