The log file shows the Nvidia GPU constantly bouncing off the 87°C thermal limit almost immediately when you start playing. You definitely need to improve cooling to get max performance out of your Nvidia GPU.

Are you using the V/F Point feature? Many 13th and 14th Gen HX owners have found that setting V/F Point 1 at 800 MHz similar to the amount they are undervolting. If you are undervolting by -100 mV then set V/F Point 1 for both the core and the cache to 100.

The Valour549 ThrottleStop Guide shows how to setup V/F Point. A link to this guide is included in the ThrottleStop 9.7.2 download.

Undervolting reduces the voltage at both ends of the voltage curve. This can cause light load stability problems because the voltage at low MHz is too low. Using the V/F Point feature to add some voltage back can help improve stability. I have not yet seen any 12th Gen results. I set V/F Point 1 to 150 for my 14900HX. This has allowed me to increase my CPU core and P cache undervolt to -150 mV without any blue screens. I have not bothered adjusting the E cache voltage yet. I do not think there are any huge gains to be had by adjusting the E cache voltage. I have not done any extensive testing to back up that thought. It does not need to be set equal to the core and P cache undervolt values.

Undoubtedly my paste is totally shot. Can't wait for the Honeywell to come. Hopefully things haven't been damaged running the computer so hot all the time. I guess thats what the throttling helps to prevent. My guess its never been re-pasted, and who knows what happened to it before i owned it. Could have had a botched paste job for all i know. the phase change material is suppose to last for a long time and comes stock on legions, so my guess is someone used normal or crappy paste. I also think the underside of the fans and inside the exhaust vents is clogged with dust which i cant access until i open everything up to do the repaste.

Ok, i think ive set v/f point correctly. set point 1 to 100 for both core and cache. This really goes completely over my head but doesn't matter if i understand it or not. im a set and forget kind of person.

Are you only using Profile 2? Most people set the same V/F Point value for all 4 of the Profiles.

At this point in time, yes. The only reason i feel the need to undervolt is to reduce temps and get better performance while gaming. The laptop is always plugged in and always on my desk. If i dont need to undervolt i just dont open throttlestop.

I'm currently looking into undervolting my GPU. not sure if that would be helpful or not. Valour-549 mentioned doing that in one of his guides. And yes I know that probably wont do much until i repaste. My only goal would be to reduce temps
