See my instructions here:
-------------------------------
Read through all my instructions first before starting!
Your running much older hardware, skip down to the last section and start there, look
for the line of dashes.
*****If you have hypersli installed, run the hypersli installer and uninstall it and reboot your computer before proceeding!******
1. Go to
http://www.geforce.com/drivers, select your operating system and video board in the list, download the driver installer.
2. Download my patched nvlddmkm35330.rar file here:
http://www.gamefront.com/files/25077330/nvlddmkm3
This patched driver is only for nvidia driver 353.30.
*** NOTE *** always check back here on these forums for the current release version,
I will have the current version in the filename and when it was uploaded on any new
posts here. Also this driver is for 64 bit operating systems only! (windows 7 - windows 8.1
generally, this driver isn't for windows 10).
3. Go to
https://github.com/EmberVulpix/DifferentSLIAuto/releases and download the 1.3 release file.
4. Unpack differentsli into a folder of your choice.
5. Unpack my patched nvlddmkm35330.rar file into the same folder where you put differentsli.
6. Install nvidia's official drivers (353.30).
7. Go back to where differentsli is installed, you might need to pause your anti-virus program too.
8. Open a command prompt (administrator version) and run the Install.cmd, it should say it was successful, if it says there was a problem, don't continue, post here as to what the error was. Unpause your anti-virus program.
9. Reboot your computer, once it's back up, go to your nvidia control panel and activate sli mode.
Please note, this patched driver is only for systems that don't otherwise support sli, my system only officially supports crossfire for example, but I'm running nvidia boards, not ati, so I have to install
my patched driver.
The only other reason to use this patched driver is if you want to mix different model nvidia video boards and still have sli mode to some degree. Please note the video bd has to
be 'new' enough to support sli, nearly every nvidia board made in the last 10 years should
be able to handle sli mode, a dead give away is if the bd in question has a sli bridge
connector on it.
Very important! make sure that the nvidia driver your downloading and the patched driver
your downloading matches in the version numbers, I'll always put for what version my
patched driver file is for in the download link, don't get them mixed up...
I hope my explanation helps.
Have fun!
You didn't say in your specs what operating system your running, it has to be 64-bit and
has to be one of the following:
Windows 7 64 bit
Windows 8 64 bit
Windows 8.1 64 bit
This driver probably won't work on windows 10, (don't have windows 10, so don't know that for sure, I wouldn't count on that though). If your running anything older then windows 7
or anything that's 32-bit, this driver probably won't work.
-------------------------------------------------------------
The above instructions make a few assumptions about a few things, If you can't get the
latest drivers due to lack of support from nvidia, follow these instructions:
Here's some updated instructions for those running older drivers and older versions of differentsli
1. Uninstall hypersli if it's installed, then reboot your pc.
2. Download 1 (or both) older versions of differentsli, I recommend unpacking each version in it's own folder. See these links for downloads:
Here's the download link for Differentsli11:
http://filecloud.me/v3ybkkn90674.html
and here's the download link for Differentsli12:
http://filecloud.me/mwzp0rq1vhnh.html
3. Download the latest (???) driver (341.44) for these instructions.
4. using winrar (rarlabs.com), extract (do NOT run the setup yet) to a folder called nvidia for example.
5. Assuming your driver folder is called nvidia, go to C:\nvidia\Display.Driver
6. In this folder find the file 'nvlddmkm.sy_' (That's not a typo).
7. copy this file to where you unpacked one of the older versions of differentsli (1.1 or 1.2).
8. Hold down the left-shift key in the open differentsli folder (make sure you don't have any files selected) and right-click, select 'open command window here'. make sure it's a administrator prompt.
9. Type the following command: 'expand nvlddmkm.sy_ nvlddmkm.sys'
10. you should now have a file named 'nvlddmkm.sys' run the patching executable to see if it will patch it successfully, if it does, then go back to where you extracted the driver installer and run the setup.exe normally.
11. when the normal driver installation is done, go back to where your older differentsli folder is that has the older patched nvlddmkm.sys and run the install.cmd, (if that is missing from one of my older differentsli uploads, copy the
install.cmd from 1.3 it will still work).
12. reboot your pc and see if you can activate sli mode.
NOTE: do NOT try to use my patched nvlddmkm35330 file with these older drivers (or any other driver that isn't 64-bit 353.30), use only your patched driver from 341.44.
Hope these instructions help!
