Don't forget about the pcie slot. It delivers 75w to the card also.

You're right, I totally forgot that part, so 2 connected cables is just fine. I think the max power consumption is ~320 watt, if I'm not mistaken.

I just did a little search for it, and as they had found out in the review you linked, my XFX PSU is actually a Seasonic M12D series - https://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page625.htm - That's a little odd, since the reason I checked, was because the review you found actually was of "XPS-850W-BES", but apparantly they're the same Seasonic PSU to begin with.

In the conclusion, this is added under the "bad" section:
- OCP failed to power off unit in max-load test 7 before it died with a bang.
However, my build should draw around 500-550 watt, so I don't see that as a huge problem.

Should be fine just to get the build up and running but I would avoid doing anything that puts heavy load on the components. If there's a small component failure inside the PSU and the safety mechanisms, like OCP, fail to trigger you could be in trouble.

For PSUs this old you do have to consider capacitor aging if the max wattage is closer to your expected usage (just for future reference as it doesn't matter in this instance).

Today I got my computer back from the repair shop, I had brought a Corsair AX850 he should install in it. As soon as he had done that, it booted without problems.
Afterwards he tested the other PSU, and apparantly, it worked just fine. The best explanation he could come up with, was that I must have failed to insert the cables fully into the PSU when I did assemble it.

Now I'm enjoying this beast.

You should keep that PSU (in case you weren't already planning on doing just that), it's a much better one than the be quiet!.

There have been major PSU shortages in Denmark for quite a while (Just like shortages on gfx and cpu). This was the only >849 watt quality PSU they could deliver.
So I cancelled the order on the be quiet! PSU and got this instead.

Honestly a 650W Prime would've probably sufficed. (The AX850 is a rebranded Prime.)
While the 6900XT can draw upwards to 600W on a spike all the Primes' OPP are set to sky-high (>130%), so that shouldn't be an issue.

In the near future I will buy a soundcard, expecting to end up with the dual slotted Asus Xonar Essence. I might end up installing a decent amount of sata discs, in case my old computer dies.
The Dark Base Pro 900 got a wireless charger for my phone on top, I have no clue how much that is using.

You should consider the Asus Xonar D2X as well (if you can find one cheap). It's the most versatile audio card Asus ever made and I like them so much I have 6 of them. I use them in audio production work and I do work for two actual record companies. I bought the most recent one last month for $20 off the local Craigslist and it's still in the original box with all accessories in their original bags. If you do get a D2X use the UNI drivers not the Asus software.

If I'm not mistaken, Asus Xonar D2X is a previous version of the Essence STX II. But STX II seems to be ~6 years newer.
