i5-10500H Undervolt Settings

My laptop is the HP Omen 15 with an i5-10500H and RTX 3060. I've been having some issues with the occasional FPS drops while gaming and wanted to know if my undervolt/TPL settings are the problem.

When I start to run Cinebench R20, the "PL1" under "Core" and "EDP Other" under "Ring" pop up red. Could the power limit that I set be the cause of my FPS drops?

Also, are there any other recommended settings I could use to improve the performance of my laptop?

Thanks.

Setting the PL1 power limit to 45W reduces your CPU speed by about 800 MHz while running Cinebench. Is that what you want? If you want more performance, increase PL1 to 80W or 90W.

Many HP laptops use an embedded controller (EC) to set a low power limit. Run an updated log file with PL1 set much higher.

An -80 mV undervolt is reasonable for a 10th Gen mobile CPU.

Good to know that the undervolt is good. My laptop crashes and blue screens in some games if I set it any higher like -100 mV and -110 mV.

I increased the PL1 to 80W and re-ran Cinebench twice for the Balanced and Performance Modes in the Omen Gaming Hub. From the logs, it seems the laptop has a 55W limit for PL1?

Also, the laptop never seems to reach the 107W PL2 limit. Should I just decrease the value to 90W or keep the value the same?

Checking the log in performance mode, your CPU with its undervolt needs ~84W to run multicore Cinebench R20 at full clock (4.2GHz on all cores).

And your system is able to deliver this without throttling once temperatures are below 90°C.

To play, where the loads are crossed, CPU + GPU, you must lower your energy limits to a value that is enough to not have a bottleneck and at the same time is not so high as to suffer throttling due to temperatures.

I believe that with its undervolt 55W it would be a good value to test in cross loads...

Ah, I see. I'll continue testing the limit values with the games I play. Thanks for the help.

I've been racking my brain for months here. How did you undervolt your i5-10500h. I have a gigabyte g5 kc with the same processor and rtx 3060 105watt. How can I undervolt my processor. All
my options are greyed out on throttlestop
