i7 8700 or i5 9600K - WHICH ONE WOULD YOU CHOOSE?

as i've already said. 2400mt/s memory is your bottleneck, not the cpu. the 8700'd be fine if you had actual memory, not this 2400 mt/s garbage.

If not for the synthetic inflation of legacy mobo prices. This would be a simple answer with at most small amounts of money required to get best performance out of either processor.

After selling off old board and RAM the difference would be offset.
