Newegg has reduced the asking price for Intel's Arc A750 Limited Edition 8 GB graphics card - this reference model is now available at an all-time low of $199. It is too early to tell whether this a permanent discount or just a seasonal sale - but the online retailer could be reacting (in advance) to the launches of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4060 (in July) and 4060 Ti models, as well as AMD's Radeon RX 7600 GPU lineup later this week.

Team Blue is putting a lot of effort into getting the hardware buying public to adopt its first generation of A-series/Alchemist discrete graphics cards - including the premiere of a slightly bizarre marketing campaign last week, called "Arc Balanced Builds." Intel has been navigating a market long dominated by NVIDIA and AMD, where plenty of folks have welcomed a third player on the field - but the Arc series experienced a much delayed and rough launch process last year. Intel has seemingly committed to next generation graphics technologies, with its Battlemage and Celestial architectures speculated to be in-progress at the company's AXG division.

RX 6600 performance at RX 6600 price.

Still, a good looking card, and it performs 10% better in 4K than the RX 6600.

See that's what's tough about it. The RX 6600 makes so much more sense to buy. BUT the Intel card does have some benefits depending on your usage. And far more interesting to play with lol.

I hadn't dealt with Newegg in years- but a friend recently bought a i7 from them... He ordered a 13th gen and received a 12th gen :eek:

They did eventually sort it out

@W1zzard Do you still have plans to revisit the Arc series with regards to updated drivers and current pricing?
Definitely. I have a full retest planned for after Computex, with newest drivers, all the major new 2023 games, etc. I didn't expect that there would be multiple new GPU launches in the week before Computex... I specifically planned my holidays last week for "nobody would launch that close to Computex" .. and came back to a pile of graphics cards that needed to be tested asap :/

Maybe was RX 6600 performance at 1080p. They had many issues 7+ months ago, some games scored very low and/or almost same FPS at 1080 and 1440p and so on (not to mention the low load consumption). @W1zzard is planning a retest and we 'll know if Arc GPUs perform better and how much.

Eh, I've been dealing with Newegg for over 20 years and 10's of thousands of dollars. Never any issue. The last interaction I had with them was a zero restock charge return on a 4080 simply because I changed my mind and bought a 4090. They even paid the return shipping.

I literally had them refund a PSU I bought and forgot about, 2 months after it was supposed to be delivered. They were fine with it.

Could you elaborate? I'm curious about these cheaper cards with lots of VRAM + apparently decent raytracing performance. But I'm also put off by apparently poor DX9 implementation and issues running older games. I tend to run 10+ year old games myself.

Well, good for you :D

My son's last interaction with them was shall we say, less than good...

They sent him the wrong product, then denied his RMA request, then tried to pawn off the responsibility for the mistake onto the mfgr, which was total bullshit.

Then when we disputed the transaction with his CC company, they told them that he had previously attempted numerous fraudulent returns, and had previously been permanently banned from buying anything from them, which was also total BS...

Therefore we got the state AG, Consumer Affairs, and the BBB involved, and after 4 long, dragged out months, he received his refund MINUS a 10% restocking fee...at which point we just turned the whole thing over to our attorney...

24 hours later, BAM, full refund + attorney's fees mailed to him in a cashier's check (wtf ??)

The ONLY positive thing in this whole clusterf*ck..... the original, correct item showed up at our front door 3 weeks later, and another one a week after that, and then another one 2 weeks after that....all of which we promptly sold to friends & family members .......

geez what a shitshow...

The only annoying issue is the 40W idle power consumption when you're on a single monitor at 120Hz+. If you run below that then it goes down to 8W.

The latest May driver fixes a lot of issues.

Screw the Nvidia and AMD cards at this lower price point. You can grab this just for AV1 and it is already better then what Nvidia and AMD are offering in that space already. Or put it in a cheap box you want with AV1 and play some games on it as well.

As a Linux gamer, ready to buy a 6700 or something in the immediate future, an Arc purchase seems to have become an increasingly logical option over the past several months. Hmmm.

Keep dreaming as the drivers are leaving users wanting...
