This will be interesting if they use it to ax 2011-v4. That will be a very short lived product line which is not like Intel for HEDT. I am almost curious if the will offer 3647 side by side with 20111-V4.
Isn't the next HEDT socket using Skylake X supposed to be LGA2066, not another revision of 2011?

The socket will only be available on the server front so gaming folks will have to wait for Skylake-X series to hit the market. The new Skylake-X series will also feature a new socket, known as LGA 2066. This platform will support chips with up to 10 cores. More details on Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X processors can be found here.

Socket P (3647) is currently supporting the Phi x200. I don't know if it will be re-used for HEDT or not, but here it is either way:

Xeon 'Gold'? What the literal hell, Intel?

What's next, Core i7 Platinum, Core i5 Blue Coral, and Pentium Emerald Edition?

Seriously would expect this from AMD, not Intel.
