i'm sure you wouldn't have made that comment if it was the west coast; so even generally, i am offended for all ohioans. you should know about ohio and the midwest, it has a rich history of cutting edge tech in the day; carnegie and rockefeller the bill gates and alton musk of their day, lived in cleveland, ohio. steel production and petroleum refinement (hello shell oil!) the industrial revolution. the whole rust belt has been left to fend for itself for the last 50 years and been the brunt of jokes.

people who don't know, don't have an opinion/comment to make since they get disproven and should be discouraged. it works like that too :)
I mean, sure, but you’re also the state that abused Lebron, let him go in a heretic fashion, let him come back and win your first championship in 40+ years, and then pouted and insulted him when he left the second time…

Having lived in the Midwest, I am comfortable saying it’s pretty trash, but I get the post-gaslighting empathy. Carnegie etc invested in many smaller states, but given how they pulled out, who cares? Ohioans deserve better than claiming fame to venture capitalists and generational athletic talent.

. so... I really can't say I wouldn't have said it about well... anywhere with boomer generation, frankly.
best thing about the cold winters in ohio, the old people move to florida
I do apologize for offending you all the same. Not my intent, and am glad to learn some about your area!
no worries froggy. :)

yeah a whole state . . :kookoo:

reflects more about you.

What's your point? That somehow because Intel bought the rights to acquire portions f a company that is 25 years old, that somehow this makes this move in Ohio any easier?

The Austin that created Winchip in the 1990s was already riding off the success stories of Motorola' s successful assembly plant plus AMD's second fab (Fab 25, broke ground the same year Winchip was launched!)

If you think that this is somehow relevant, then you're forgotten how much hard work it took to make ut all work so well (decades of building-up infrastructure and supplky lines). - and the best part starting in Austin was being right down the street from the University of Texas campus (most of the schools in Ohio are all about The Football (TM), and can't supply the number of research students other universities can.

When you have to import BOTH your Chemical Engineering infrastructure, and the Brainpower to make it all work, well then you know it's a lost cause

Hey Genius, I'm only poking fun at Ohio's lack of Education (Outside The Football State University!) :D

You're still making my original point for me that Columbus is a tech backwater (Thanks to it's central location, Your school is just as far a commute as from Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh!)

It's much easier to source the brains when the commute is 20 miles away from the university (Both Motorola old Oak Hill plant, and AMD's FAB 25 can lay claim to this!) Research Professors would rather not leave campus for too long to support a new project like this ( when you have to drive nearly a day round-trip, you'd have to get a hotel and stay multiple nights - not n easy sell for multiple engineering staff

Why don't you put in a resume to Intel since clearly you got this figured out.

Hey Genius, I'm only poking fun at Ohio's lack of Education (Outside The Football State University!)

You're still making my original point for me that Columbus is in the middle of nowhere (Thanks to it's central location, Your school is just as far a commute as from Carnegie Mellon!)

its funny to have texas, whose population lives vicariously through high school football (been there, have friends and family living there) wants to "poke fun." kettle meet pot.

seems google, amazon or facebook has any problems w/the area. and i'm, pretty sure all those "concerns" you're pointing at were address very early in the bidding process. how did all those brain work out on that power grid?

Why would I join this runaway circus? Their Management Culture are so Stuck on Repeat they had t dig out their "Greatest Hits Album from 20 years ago" to have any hope to keep treading water!

Putting Gelshinger in alone isn't going to magically fix the management at Intel, but it is a decent first step...but management is still responsible for huge clusters like this one!

Treading water, lol. Have you seen how much cash they have to throw around. I think they are very much more than treading water.

I use to live in that area. New Albany was one of my old stomping grounds. Between Amazon, Facebook and Microsoft moving into the area you now have a world class fab. My area I grew up in is going to change forever.

Change isn't always good. The tech industry helped turn Seattle into the craphole it's become today.

Oh I know that. I remember when most of New Albany were corn fields.
