Maybe Intel found that i7 13700K can match 7950X gaming performance, that's why the increased prices.
In that case maybe the 3D V-cache iterations will be needed sooner than later?

It won't be justified based on performance imo.
Probably 13600KF will have similar price and gaming performance with 7600X ($299 if it match 5600X) and it will be 40% faster or more in multithreading apps like Cinebench if it's a 6P+8E design!

Not sure performance would keep them from "following the competition".

Maybe, this concerns anyway the SRPs. If the multithreading performance gap between 13600KF/7600X is as i suggested, the market probably will force them anyway to have lower street prices.

Those price slashes we can thank amd for that killer 16 core, coming out with better performance driving intel gouging down.

AMD just recently started to drop prices due to Intel dropping theirs on the 12 gen cpu's.
