Students have recently been busted for a brand new form of cheating: loading test answers on their iPod's and MP3 players. This new form of cheating extends all the way from simply putting information in a lyric file to "podcasts" of test answers. Two students have already been caught red handed, and so a school in Meridian, Idaho has banned MP3 players of any form being on a student during a test. These incidents have even triggered talk of a national ban. This is vastly in contrast to the move Duke University made in 2004 when they bought 1,650 iPod's so that their students could keep up with studies.

Why didn't they ban MP3 players sooner? Even if there weren't any answers on it, surely listening to music during tests could distract the student (as well as those near him)...

9 people in my class (40% of hte class) had iPods, but they all broke within half a year

half a year? i still have my mini and it's working it's like...1 and a half years old now. i could've seen this one coming...any way to cheat is good :D as long as you don't get caught...

lol... cheating is pathetic fullstop. I worked my ass off for my university degree, and if i found out another student had simply cheated to get their degree id beat the crap outa them. grrr

Pretty ingenious to figure out how to use the ipod to cheat.

not really, most MP3 with displays read .txt files.

well thanks to for the company that published that info for annoucing to the whole world on a good idea to cheat using an ipod, or mp3 player

........what kind of stupid fuck of a school lets students listen to music in a test?

retards

thats what I was thinking, they would never let us do that here :twitch:

In the UK you're not even allowed to have a calculator lid in a zipped up pocket. Listening to MPÂŁ players?:wtf: Why in hell would you allow that?

Only in America :shadedshu

I have to agree even tho I live in America! lol But If I was caught having a MP3 player in school or college, Id be suspended or worse.....expelled......:ohwell:

I wanna move to Japan........

Yeah, you just have to regulate shit properly.

Over here, if you are found OR suspected to be cheating you are awarded an automatic zero on the test you are sitting. Being suspected for cheating can include:
- Having a mobile phone in the exam room
- Being caught with any written material relevant or not to the current test
- Writing on the arm
- Anything written on a calculator lid
- Whispering, making noises, coughing conspicuously (as in coughing and saying "A" for an answer)

We also have to bring in all our equipment; pens, calculators etc in a clear plastic container or sleeve. All watches MUST be on the desk and not on our arms while the exam is in process. Toilet breaks are not allowed during the first and last half hour of the exam.

The people that cheat are usually too stupid to beat regular students anyway

I think I speak for all us that study hard when I say HAHA :D

Actually I succesfully cheated in a maths exam, and none of the invigilators even saw me do it. We had Maths Paper A and Maths Paper B. B was with a calculator, A was without. We were supposed to complete A, and then wait until we were told we could go onto B, but I went straight onto B after I finished A and nobody noticed, and remembering some of the questions from A which I couldn't do, I pretended to use my calculator to answer shit on B, when actually I was answering stuff on A. Invigilators are stupid :wtf:

Nah, I can't legitimately do that. Besides, his steam account's already been frozen for doing a similar thing on Counter Strike... ;).

But don't turn this into a "Cahseti you suck at cheating" thread, those tend to get out of hand rather quickly.
