Can I have my computer on this foam instead of carpet? It's better because I don't want it on carpet. Your answers are appreciated! Thank you, God bless! :)

I dont see any issue there

Hi

Polystyrene holds a static charge and will attract dust and fluff [*may - damage components if in direct contact]

Note: use a piece of wood; cardboard or old book\s

Yeah don't be doing that, better safe than sorry.

use a box instead till you get something better

Was about to suggest wood too. Static electricity loves packing foam and it can build up a lot of volts. The carpet would probably be better but, best is using a table, counter, or a small piece of plywood. Think of things you'd never get an shock from--those are good surfaces.

When I was poor college student with small room, I'm using packing foam too (to save space, and top of the case act as extended table).

Had no trouble with static charge at that time (about 4 years), but it could be because I live in tropical country.
I heard 4 seasons country folks have fair bit problem with static electricity compared to us.

I've got mine on a 24"x8" shelf board.

True what's been said about Styrofoam. Ever tried flicking away the little styro bits that cling to your hand when you open a package? Static electricity big time too.

Kind of tacky
