I bet you installed new updates on back to back boots, and it just seems like MS is really trying to ram it down your throat. I wish they'd stop too, but it what it is. I love that everything time I use a MS website, it adds a webpage section at the top of the page that claims Edge is more secure and that I should switch.

I ran Edge for about a year when it first came out publicly. It is the best browser that MS has ever made, IMO. I use Chrome, Firefox and Edge regularly, but my go to is still Firefox.

That isn't saying much. And ironically, if you look at the innards, the latest Edge isn't even made by them - it's a Chromium based browser.

Speaking of "forcing things down our throats", every time I sign into Gmail from Edge, I get a pop-up informing me that Gmail is better viewed in the Chrome browser. Yeah maybe, because then I wouldn't get annoying popups covering my inbox every time I check it.

I used to like Edge a lot, until it started getting on my last nerve with popups and nags and sneaky tricks like enabling spying "features" (Shopping, etc) by default. The last straw was suddenly stopping to offer to save passwords and there was no way to create your own logins like you could in Firefox. **

So I did in fact uninstall it with HiBit Uninstaller and got all the remnants I could. Then, I nullified Internet Explorer b/c that's what comes up in its place nowadays.

It is a very decent browser in its bare-bones state but it's like it all went to Microsoft's head or something.

**The create-your-own-logins "feature" is now available in Edge Canary, it seems. Not in the release yet.
