I'm still thinking about the colour calibration thing, and I guess I don't need a monitor with sRGB mode after all as long as I calibrate it? I mean I have just noticed I can export stuff in Lightroom using sRGB colour space, which will likely display correctly for others as well? I have just realized I based my requirements on something I read in past which I don't really understand, and as such never thought about it because those people must know better.

From reviews it seems like a pretty decent monitor if you don't get a defective one.

he already got the short stick, i wouldn't gamble with that. lots of good monitors out there. But hey that's me

You don't need it and often that mode has some specific settings locked out for user access (brightness, contrast, etc).

Calibrate User or any mode you like and then use ICC profiling (which should work in software that supports it) with optional sRGB gamut clamp (AMD has that in their driver software) for optimal color accuracy if you don't like the wide gamut oversaturation in SDR games.

it has a setting which let's you enable it (at least most of the time) some are auto HDR, which can back fire pretty hard.

I don't think I ever saw a game with such setting.
Does that mean most stuff I play will have weird colours as long as monitor is set to wide gamut?

you will know if HDR is on, there is almost no color and it looks really washed out. I assume your Screen is HDR400 certified.

edit:

Here is an example between an HDR vs SDR Mode:

The first one is HDR & the Second one is SDR
