For years i thought i had a constant whine from my pc, i tried various different things etc... replacing most parts with fans, asking friends for advice, even taking my pc to pc shops.
In the end i found out there was nothing wrong with my pc at all, my problem was Tinnitus.
I thought I had tinnitus for years, a constant whining in my ear. Luckily I'm not with my ex anymore and the problem vanished. :toast:

In all seriousness, I'm actually half deaf but have been since I was a little LifeOnMars and thankfully does not impair my ability to hear most things, speak properly and generally have a normal life. Tinnitus must be horrible.

I thought so too! Google search said it can happen to motherboards too, though it is more rare. Also, the review for this mobo I have, both on Amazon and on Microcenter state coil whine problems on the mobo itself, so I know its not just me. Wish I had read reviews first! I bought it in person though and it was a bundle deal... and I just assumed it was fine cause well you know Aorus Elite sounds good to the ear.

I had a whiny PSU a few years ago, a Cooler Master MWE 650W Gold. It wasn't audible while using the PC but as long as it had 'vampire' power it had a low whining noise which I could even hear in my bed if it was quiet enough at night so I had to flip the power switch off every time.
Luckily it even died on me within warranty and the retailer gave me back my money and let me pick a new PSU instead. 'it was during early covid so they didn't want to deal with the long warranty process'

Then I had a whiny but more like buzzing GTX 1070 EVGA FTW 3 but it only did it when the fans were spinning and it wasn't that high pitched annoying noise so it wasn't bothering me that much to care so I kept it.

Even funnier thing is that my current keyboard can whine, don't ask me how but one day I picked it up while cleaning my desk and also wiped off the keyboard while things were powered on and I heard a faint noise. Took me a few to figure out but then I put the keyboard right next to my ear and it was that. 'Its a fully led lit/RGB mecha keyboard, can't hear it unless I put my ear right on top of it so its whatever'

And now my Be quiet! Pure Base 500 FX has a fan/RGB hub on its back side and that does whine/weird electrical noise when the system is powered on, luckily the sound dampending material on the back side panel and the case itself blocks the noise but seriously whats the deal with all of this whiny parts or I'm just that unlucky.. 'Thank god my second hand TuF 3060 Ti is not a whiny one at least..'
