No one can guarantee me that 118GB is enough for any future (feature) updates (and W12?).

Ok..I can get the P1600X 118GB for 157 EUR, maybe I'll try it anyway....
It's the only better Optane at a reasonable price for me..

Yes, 128 will handle the OS even 12 can't need more than 11 actual 64gb, and 50gb of apps is hard to believe

@Shrek why didn't you get one?

I did and I installed Windows 11 on it but I have not yet deployed it as that PC is being used by someone else for now.

Actual free space seems 109 GiB.
Just beware of one thing, archive extraction uses TEMP folder, and needs enough space, anyway the folder can be set manually in the app the day a 50/100GB archive needs to be extracted.

GOG installers too...

So for me 256/500GB is the sweet spot for OS SSD.

I think it really depends on what you do. If you also have a secondary drive I think you can tell windows by default to install new programs and stuff to alternate drive to avoid filling up your primary drive/partition. As a server OS drive that rarely gets changed it's probably just fine. As a workstation/personal OS drive it depends at least initially it would probably be fine until you identify something along the way that causes it not to be fine.

Or just you know, you use the drop down to change the install from C: to another drive  I do this all the time with games, I have a dedicated 1TB PCI-E 4.0 1TB NVME labelled games and just change the directory during the first part of the install, Windows is on a PCI-E 3.0 1TB.

Also things like pagefile can be set to another drive if you plan to have another SSD, not sure about hibernate as I always disable it and delete the hiberfile.sys file, guess that's a remnant from my earlier Windows days, but I have no use for hibernation anyway as my PC is purely personal and it doesn't matter if it takes me 20s to boot and then have to open up the programs that i want to use :rockout:

The hybernate file can only be deleted, not moved.

That's pretty stupid. since any image-based backup method will then back it up for no good reason. It is also likely to hit your most valuable SSD with its huge amount of writes.
