Of course it is, anything removed is silly even if it's support for 50 year old games. But imagine what would've happened in the thread talking about nvidias 90% marketshare if someone said they prefer nvidia cause of physx. We both know, right? It's still kinda crappy they removed it some of the games that support it are doing cool things even modern games don't and while it wouldn't dissuade me from purchasing a gpu that was clearly better than what I currently own overall I definitely wouldn't swap a similar performing one. MFG is just frame gen with all the benefits and all the downsides of current frame gen amplified on top of reducing performance at each step as the only real stand out feature.
Suddenly, im reading comments like "hundreds of games can't be played on nvidia anymore due to removal of physx". That's an actual comment people make....come on, the reactions are crazy.
Funny you mention that, cause nobody mentions how rdna 2 (probably rdna 3 too?) card cannot play some old games. Nobody cares, nobody mentions it, nobody is bothered, nobody acts like it's a huge con. And here is a huge difference, 5xxx CAN play the games with physx, you just have to turn physx off (like you would if you had any other card). My dude, nvidia is a multi trillion dollar corpo. Pretty sure they could figure out a software emulation solution for legacy software. But, you know, why bother when people will meatshield your defective chips and make excuses while your cards burst into flame?
I mean, should we drop DX9? It's old, who needs that? Hell get rid of 10 while we're at it, and all forms of open GL. Who uses that old software?
Amd cards CANNOT play some old games at all. Imagine my surprise when I tried to play divine divinity on my 6700s and all I got was black boxes. It's 6$ from steam, ill buy it for you if you don;t believe me and wanna test it yourself.
