KFA2 Announces the GeForce GTX 970 EXOC Sniper Edition Graphics Card

KFA2, Galaxy's EU wing, announced the GeForce GTX 970 EXOC Sniper Edition graphics card. EXOC is KFA2 equivalent for Galaxy's "Hall of Fame" edition moniker, denoting the company's highest factory-overclock tier. The card features a custom-design 27 cm long PCB, with a 2-slot thick air cooler that makes use of a dense aluminum fin-stack, to which heat drawn directly from the GPU die is fed by 8 mm-thick nickel-plated copper heat pipes; ventilated by a pair of 90 mm spinners that stay off when idling.

The GTX 970 EXOC Sniper Edition comes with factory-overclocked speeds of 1178 MHz core, with 1329 MHz max GPU Boost frequency, and an untouched 7012 MHz (GDDR5-effective) memory, against reference speeds of 1050 MHz core and 1178 MHz GPU Boost. KFA2 plans to sell the card at 349€ (including all taxes), when it hits the shelves later this month.

Well...The cooler and clocks don't seem that special to me overall (But it looks fine). Also why did they take away one of the greatest assets of the GTX 9XX series and remove the extra DP's to have only one HDMI, 1 DP, and 2 DVI's. That was one of the best features of the series in my book as it gave a lot of options for multiple monitor hookups.

Actually the cards looks sober and interesting!
KFA2 makes nice coolers, sober cards....

No, it is not. Hall of Fame is HoF for both KFA² and Galax(y), cards names are the same the company is the same.

So this is next up to gtx970 EXOC black edition(with 14MHz higher clocks, what a OC). I think AIB:s are a bit bored and are just trying to get rid of old gpus before next generation.

Not a fan on how the fans are attached ( looks like a lot of air flow is blocked ) how ever i do like the look of this much more than most.

Metal shrouds always a plus and looks like it has a back plate too.

mostly all 900 series comes with backplates...

Not MSI. 960 4GB editiin, and 100ME of the 960 and 970 are the only ones.

The vast majority of MSI 900 series, which are the 960 2GB, the 970, and all the 980's have no backplate.

pretty interesting, most gigabyte's, asus and EVGA came with Backplate...

my pair of EVA SC 970s didnt have a backplate.. i would say the majority dont but could be wrong.. he he

thanks for the correction, all the EVGA's that i have seen, also installed have backplates, but as you did say not all!

According to Guru3D review this EXOC cooler is better than ASUS Strix 970 or MSI Gaming 970 cooler, although also a bit noisier than both (probably because of more aggressive fan profile) : http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/galax_geforce_gtx_970_exoc_review,8.html
