HyperX, a division of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced HyperX Savage, its next-generation SATA Rev. 3 (6Gb/s) SSD. HyperX Savage is powered by the Phison S10 quad-core, eight-channel controller delivering incredible read/write speeds for both compressible and incompressible data, as well as high IOPS. It replaces the highly successful HyperX 3K SSD.

HyperX Savage is the fastest SATA-based SSD in the HyperX family. With sequential speeds of up to 560MB/s read and 530MB/s write, and IOPS of up to 100,000 read and 89,000 write, HyperX Savage offers higher performance, ultra-responsive multitasking and an overall faster system. It features an eye-catching red steel and aluminum case with a low profile to fit most notebooks, desktops and small-form factor PC builds. This new design continues the HyperX trend as a leader in stylish gaming products.

"We are proud to introduce the HyperX Savage as our latest and fastest SATA-based SSD," said Lawrence Yang, business manager, HyperX. "The HyperX 3K drive has been a core part of our SSD offerings since 2012, and now with Savage, we are unleashing even higher performance and capacities to satisfy the most demanding consumers, enthusiasts and gamers."

HyperX Savage is available in 120GB, 240GB, 480GB and 960GB capacities. It is sold as a stand-alone SSD or with an upgrade bundle kit that includes a 2.5" USB 3.0 enclosure, 3.5" bracket and mounting screws, SATA data cable, hard drive cloning software5, multi-bit screwdriver and a 7mm to 9.5mm adapter. The drive is available at Tiger Direct, Rakuten, Newegg and Amazon.

HyperX is the high-performance product division of Kingston Technology, encompassing high-speed DDR4 and DDR3 memory, SSDs, USB Flash drives, headsets and gaming accessories. Targeted at gamers, overclockers and enthusiasts, HyperX is known throughout the world for quality, performance and innovation. HyperX is committed to eSports as it sponsors over 20 teams globally and is the main sponsor of Intel Extreme Masters. HyperX can be found at many shows including Brasil Game Show, China Joy, DreamHack, gamescom and PAX.

This is one brand whose SSDs I am never going to purchase. I have had more than 90% SSDs from Kingston fail in clients PCs. Compared to them I had better luck with OCZ SSDs.

Crucial M4's .... for the fucking win!!!
:D

oh i just got a HyperX Fury 120gb (500/500) :D knowing the reputation of it ofc ... but my etailer did a promo on it ... still not better than the Patriot Blaze 60gb (530/430)i have in my mITX build

(surprisingly enough the best SSD i have is my OCZ Vertex III 120gb(550/520) in term of Crystalmark ... and he's up and running since mid 2013 as my main OS drive, screw the bad reputation, eh? )

a friend got a hyperx 3K, don’t know the exact specs but is like a cheetah on cocaine, pretty fast little devil, I told him about Kingston's fame on their SSDs but the decided to try it out,

I had a OCz Vertex SSD on my old 1st gen i7 power laptop, they are pretty solid units I do trust'em, but my preferred brand is crucial, I will done some crystal marks on my drive to see how is doing, also to know about his speeds,

Regards,

aiming for a MX100 512 at last ... when my financial status will be a bit better xD now i settle with the lower reputation brand to get lower price xD not really worrying over failures :D

I love my 64GB SSD, it taught me pretty much storing discipline due its small storage size, also I just have one SSD for my OS and some "Dairy Work" programs on my personal rig, my job rig does not belong to me so I will not invest on a SSD, if I got it for free maybe,

Regards,

Im a little 'cautious' about kingston after they got caught with their pants down sending samples to reviewers that featured better/faster NAND chips then the same products that were being sent to retailers.

This week ive purchased an OCZ ARC100 for shits and giggles as its dirt cheap for 250GB. However my main go to brand of SSD is Samsung, Plextor, Toshiba or Crucial.

Priced like 850pro ?

WHAT is kingston smoking ?

Love the premium bundle, but wouldn't risk it. All the Kingston products I've tried were disappointingly slow, and even their RAM has crappy timings and high voltage specs. Their USB thumb drives are very slow, even the USB 3.0 models. I'll pass...

I've had mixed experience with them. Still have on my 775 PC, a pair of Kingston Hyper X Fury. I've owned drives that failed and I own their DataTraveler R3.0 . I think this particular model may well be the best price/performance I've had for a thumb drive. Generally, I am on the positive side of Kingston, but not for SSD's. USB/microSD/RAM - I'd give them a shot.

I have no problems with kingston memory, also I'm not that enthusiast on memories, still using stock Kingston Value Ram @1333GHZ, but I'm selective on my SSD's, Crucial, Samsung or Plextor as many here chose always, also patriot makes gooooooood SSD's

maybe next year I will look for a "K" version of my i7 and some crucial 1600GHZ ram memory,

With the MX100 512GB you should worry over failures! There is a bug in the MX100 series drives! I had one of those and I was affected also. The drive just stops once every several days and bluescreens the system. Crucial knows about the problem but they are not doing anything to fix it! Their forums are full of people that have this issue too. They have released the MX200 series which is probably fixed but I'm never buying anything from them again!...

well if it's a bug that affect only some and not all... i can rely on my luck and have no mean to worry myself, after all i have a OCZ SSD in my main rig and a Kingston for the secondary...

not buying from one of the best (quality/gb/price) brand because of that is not really something. I rather buy Crucial/Sandisk/OCZ(Toshiba) than Samsung or Intel who both overprice their product like no other, even considering the fact thsat they are not really above the aforementioned other :D

I've still got an M4 that shows no sign of stopping. They were tanks once they got their 150th firmware update! (okay, I exaggerate a little).

M4 is the bravest soldier I ever met, mine has been runiing with me for 2 years, I got second handed, since I got this little devil is says "Remaining life: 98%... I have done several tests and there are no errors, problems or bugs on my little soldier, if I will need to replace or purchase another SSD it will be for sure another M4, maybe 128GB, if not 64GB like the current one,
