Aside from being larger than the regular Maya, the ambidextrous Maya X also comes with LAMZU's latest tech: PixArt's PAW3950 sensor, Omron optical main button switches, LAMZU scroll wheel encoder, a 48 g lightweight build, and the 8K dongle included by default.

While there may not be much wrong with the mouse itself, the idea of having a mouse like that, with just a one-year warranty at $120, crazy to me.

I have the gray. Love it! It's a much better shape for my 20x10 hands and relaxed claw grip style over the FinalMouse ULX. I also like the L&R switches more then the ULX & G Pro Superlight 2.
I would like an app, in the event the company goes down I don't know if the web driver would still be accessible? I don't think the web driver is stored/ran on the mouse?

Correct, the web driver is hosted on a server. If the server is down or the app simply no longer being hosted, configuration becomes impossible.

Scary.
If there's this HID thing in Chromium browsers... maybe there's a way to interface with it or maybe an OS in the future could handle these settings?

The easiest way is to package the web app in Electron and distribute it as a normal installable executable. LAMZU used to have that actually, but decided to discontinue that distribution for some reason.

I usually carry my mouse in my backpack... this thing looks like it would get every single crumb or dust particle stuck inside the mouse if it doesn't break from the bottom with something pressing up against it... cool idea but not very practical unless you plan to never travel with the thing...

It's an annoying extra step, but a ziploc sandwich bag isn't expensive or terribly inconvenient.

The firmware has been provided to me by LAMZU, but should be made public soon. Differences to the currently public 0.0.0.6 are maginal anyway.

Hello, thank you for doing this review. It was very well done. I have a question if you don’t mind me asking. Do you think Lamzu will fix the lift off adding 18 MS to click latency or is that simply just a D bounce setting?

That is only something LAMZU could fix, and I would expect them to fix it at some point.

Do you have any knowledge if the firmware version 0.0.0.6 has the same latency penalty as the 0.0.0.9 has when you did the testing? LAMZU still has not released the firmware version that you were using during the testing, but I don't feel that latency penalty on the 0.0.0.6 version (not that I have some Super Spidey powers to even be able to perceive it, but as far as feel goes, I don't seem to feel it as I'm playing)

I've also noticed some unusual behavior after completely removing the OEM skates and applying aftermarket dot skates. Do you have any knowledge if it's normal?

In terms of latency, 0.0.0.6 and 0.0.0.9 are exactly the same, with the only difference being polling stability, which is worse on the former.

Try adjusting LOD, if the sensor height differs as a result of changing skates, weird behavior is possible.

Really appreciate the suggestion. I ended up slapping the sensor skate back on and adjusted the LOD to 1mm. Works just fine after those adjustments. Btw there actually is a downloadable mouse driver available. This is the link (Pick the AURORA version for the MAYA X):

Not sure when it was released though. It may very well be possible that it wasn't released when you published the review. I'll also add that I absolutely love your reviews and appreciate the amount of work you put into writing them.

A packaged software was originally available for download, but later was removed for unknown reasons. Good to see it's now back. Thanks!

Hey pzogel! Hope all is well

Just an FYI. The Lamzu Maya X has received a firmware update (Version 0.0.0.14) and has eliminated the downloadable driver for the mouse as of now. Just wanted to let you know. Also curious if you'd test the new firmware, although I can understand that you have moved on to other mice by now.

I've already tested the 0.0.0.14 firmware and updated the review accordingly. The packaged software is still available for me:
