Last game you purchased?

I've never seen that add but it is surprising. There are some recognizable names in there but not necessarily sites I would go to (at least for game reviews). I've never played the game and see little reason to play it so I can't say much about it.
Yeah, I was a little shocked to see three Japan/Brazil/Spain, Destructoid, GamesRadar and Shacknews. Those are big names for gaming journalism.

Vice, Forbes, Esquire are some pretty dubious sources of info at the best of times, but still big names - what surprised me were all the other more general newspapers, which from experience are usually just a single columnist playing it for a short while and then getting a tiny number of column inches to provide a quick opinion. Starfield starts slow and boring, you need to persist with it for 10+ hours to even get to any gameplay that isn't tedious and doesn't feel like a drawn-out tutorial - so I'm surprised any of those reviewers actually played it long enough to dig through the boring crust to find the enjoyable gameplay buried further into the game's progression; perfect scores from them are extra sus.

ive played most of the elder scroll and fallout games. I figured maybe it was like outer worlds which I enjoyed but I do hear a lot of people stating the starfield is just boring
Download a pirate copy if you're truly curious and you can always choose to buy it proper if you like the high-seas version.
The only language game developers understand is sales figures. Do not reward Bethesda with money unless you want to see more Starfield-like work from Bethesda going forwards.

The Outer Worlds was genuinely enjoyable. It played a lot like Fallout New Vegas in space, which is no surprise from Obsidian, and once again proves that Obsidian make the games that Bethesda wish they could, but lack the talent to do so.

Warcraft Battlechest just came out yesterday, surprise launch of Warcraft 1 Remaster and 2 Remaster, and Warcraft 3 got a huge update. It only cost me $25 since I already owned Warcraft 3 Reforged. Nice to see my favorite RTS getting some love finally though, can't wait to play all three again.

The system specs are very reasonable. Almost anyone can play it.

Bought a blackbox Final Fantasy X-2 PS2 PAL from an internet buddy with 15EUR incl postage. :)

Predator: Hunting Grounds really enjoying it so far...

Red Dead Redemption.

I played MP a lot with my son BITD on 360 when it came out. Tried emulating on Xenia a few times over a couple of years, but it was always janky so I gave up on that. The quality of life improvements on the PC port have enhanced the experience. Load times are almost nonexistent, even shader comp takes less than 5 seconds. I remember watching the revolver spin on load screens for waaay too long on 360. Draw distance, reduced pop-in, higher res and FPS are all welcomed.

This game is in my top 10 all time. I didn't mind paying $50 for it either. PC gaming has become a complaint culture, I prefer to share stoke instead of salt.

Hella good game, but I still personally wouldn't repurchase it as I have it on PS3, That sluggish 720p didn't bother, still a great game!

I was on consoles through the entire 360-PS3-Wii era as my son grew up so we could play together. Once he got in Jr. High and his friend turned him on to how incredible the PC mod scene was for Minecraft he joined the PCMR.

Getting to the point: I have double dipped almost everything I played on console so I could play it much better on PC. They could milk me on Gears of War 2-3-Judgement too, if they ever port them to PC. Resistance fall of man and Infamous series would be must haves too.

You don't need to play it. Your time is going to be much better spent of just about anything else. I played it because it was free, and I still want a refund.

If you've played Skyrim or Fallout 3 or 4, then you're going to be disappointed by Starfield at best, and more likely angered by the lack of agency and truly phoned-in elements all over the gameplay loops. So if you're familiar with The Elder Scrolls or the Fallout universe, you should avoid Starfield.

If you've never played Skyrim of Fallout, then for the love of all that is healthy, go and play one of those instead.

I've played all of those games and Starfield is like them but better and tighter. Starfield is a Bethesda game, but with polish and thought. Fallout 4 is the only game I've ever played I got legitemately angry at, and then I started laughing because it's so stupid. Fallout 3 is just bad. Skyrim is pretty and nothing else. Starfield? I legitimately enjoy it. It's not a perfect game by any means, but I genuinely believe it is the best game Bethesda is capable of making.

You like Resistance? Damn that looked good for a launch title (Dead or Alive 4 is betteeeeerrrr..)

My son and I played through Resistance Fall of Man a few times. Man was that a fun game for couch co-op. Liked the setting and sci-fi story too.

On the Fallout games: 3 was my introduction to the series, and hooked me on the play style and fallout world building. 4 is my favorite to mess around with different builds from Grognak the Barbarian to pimped out power armor with the jet pack. Just wandering around going HAM on everything is a good time. New Vegas has the most replayable storylines and ambiance. Plus the anti-material rifle with explosive rounds is god tier. 1&2 I have never gotten around to. I think they are in my library so someday...

Starfield is fun enough, it came with my RX 7800XT I think. For my taste it lacks the replayability/addictive gameplay of some of the Fallout games. It gets way too much hate though IMO. I think the most legit criticism is the aging engine the current iteration was flex taped and built on. Loading screens like that in a modern game is unacceptable.

I will pick up Space Marine 2 for the holidays. Game pass has some new ones coming, so that's cool as well.

If you're having fun then that's great. We don't have to agree and the entire point of a game is that it's fun for the person playing it.

Your opinions don't really align with the wider population's opinions, that's all I'm going to say. A ~60% majority of players (from several thousand user reviews) didn't think Starfield was good. Meanwhile, ~80% of Skyrim players left positive reviews. Fallout 3 and 4 aren't as well received as Skyrim, and I agree with you that Fallout 4 can be pretty stupid - but Starfield to me is stupid for many of the reasons that Fallout 4 is. The same mistakes and questionable plot/choices/mechanics that made Fallout 4 worse than Fallout 3 were something that Bethesda seemed to doubled-down on with Starfield's development.

These are just opinions though. If you're having fun then you're in the 43% of people having fun and there's no need to try and convert people who aren't and vice-versa. Keep on playing :)

Just offering an alternative. You're trying to steer people away from it, I'm trying to steer people towards it.

Songs of Silence...turn based fantasy game. Nice artwork and music, kind of art nouveau looking.

As I have "nothing " to play (waiting for path of exile 2), bought Magicraft.

I'm also waiting for PoE 2, since I burned out on PoE a good year ago and have something like ten full seasons under my belt.

D4 was a disappointment, I haven't tried Last Epoch yet, I am busy with limited gaming time until next spring so I was going to leave it to bake in the oven for a few patches and maybe a DLC first.

Magicraft looks like it could be awesome, I'm after Steam Deck games for the next 3 months as that's going to be the majority of my gaming opportunities until February, most likely.

Last Epoch is not bad. Now lacks endgame content, but they tries add more. We will see later.

you shouldn't be steering people towards shit dude, that aint cool.

Looks like I've bought FF X-2 blackbox last weekend while being hella drunk and high.

I agree. The original was better.
Kinda, though the remastered is way better optimized for modern hardware. Didn't the original use only two cores? No wonder why my G3258 @ 4.7 system ran that buttery smooth back in the day...

I don't see the "black" in this "blackbox"
