Steam Winter Sale.
Was pretty disappointed overall so I had no issues picking up fewer games than I beat last year:
Suicide Squad: for $3.50 I might as well. My understanding is that it's a perfectly ok looter shooter style game, it simply shouldn't have been a GaaS follow up to the Arkham series.
Bayonetta: felt like something DMC but not just DMC. So Bayonetta instead. Kinda sucks that sequels aren't on PC but oh well.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Straightforward "ghost train ride" style linear corridor shooter game. I understand it's not very long either so should make a good pallet cleanser between longer games. Also get a kick out of the legally distinct faces all the Guardians have to have from the movies.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider definitive edition: still haven't played or beaten Rise yet, but I enjoyed my time with TR 2013 so I figured I'd pick up Shadow for 5 bucks so it's ready to go when I am.
Rocksmith 2014: Where has this game been all my life?! Basically "What if guitar hero, but people plugged in an actual guitar and we taught them how to play" the game. You will get out as much as you put into this one. Tons of built in music/rock songs to teach you to play, and can also download DLC packages for your favorite bands to learn those songs as well.
That's it. That's my winter haul.
Other than picking up Horizon Zero Dawn earlier this year, that's all the games I bought in 2024.
