Thanks for asking.

This is not an attack or anything, care to explain what you are doing for 266 hours in the game and where the enjoyment comes from?

does anyone care at this point?

Yes, actually, I enjoy the game after I modded the crap out of it. :D

The only downside, the Script Extender that helps enable all these said mods, won't be updated until the official release. I tried out the BETA last night but I had to revert to the live version. The performance improvement on my end is more or less 20%, that being said, there is still room for a lot of improvement.

explaining how the conspiracy theory of AMD blocking DLSS is actually still true
Tell me you don't understand;
  • The current state of FSR 3
  • Following an evidentiary trail and probability
  • Your own bias
Without actually telling me. It's not a stance I'm prepared to back down from, so either agree to disagree, or kindly bugger off, troll.

Crazy people would rather write a block of text explaining how the conspiracy theory of AMD blocking DLSS is actually still true somehow than just admit that they were obviously wrong. Is the tin foil hat glued to your head so you can't take it off or something ?
speaking of tin hats, AMD has glue to spare according to Intel rumors. Not all gamers care about DLSS or FSR and some just like to argue that point just for the hell of it. This game still looks pretty good without either.

Are you all so blessed with fading memory? Which Bethesda title came ready and fully polished to the market? Yeah none, exactly.......look alone at Skyrim, Oblivion and so on. It took them quite some time to nail it somewhat until the games were really done “right” by the community. There is absolutely no difference this time, except that it was easily playable.

Btw I do own Starfield but not yet played it, my first hold to wait was the missing FOV Slider which is now implemented, but I want to wait a bit more for some polishing. The game does not run away and my brain span is longer than 30s shorts, so I can wait i patience and decide for my own gusto when it's time to dive in, no matter what the general opinion is on how fast someone must consume ;)

Because I did not. I do have it, though, but never said I bought it. It was gifted by a friend of mine.

I also do not preorder, never ever to be exact.

Just keep in mind that games nowadays tend to mature at the customer. They did in the past, but since fomo and shorts overcome the brain barriers, the industry doesn't need to care that much about it.

If the game of the generation is just "good" then Microsoft should better close up shop and focus on Azure.
Are you seriously complaining about a game being good? Good is good.

I've also played it about 250 hours. Questlines are fun. The story of the main quests, all faction quests are good. You can play 100+ hours to accomplish all the main story and faction questlines.
Building ships is also fun and lasts long.
Combat is OK for me.

not sure if his case, but when your shithole country has +150% YoY inflation and accelerating to 400%+ for the next year, you tend to buy stuff yesterday, because in one year even with steam discounts it's going to cost more than a car now....

I enjoyed the tons of quests, the story, I'm still discovering random events I never had.
I'm mostly leveling the ng+ "things" now.

I'm playing with the patch now, DLAA enabled, and it made a world of difference. Image quality is far better, so is the performance.

Locked the FPS on 60, running amazingly @4k.

If you don't like something, it doesn't mean nobody like it.

hence I prefaced it by saying "this is not an attack" you like whatever you like, if that is watching paint dry, thats fine, you do you, I just would like to get an idea of what drives someone to play a game like that for so long.

You say you just "play the game, like any other game" but that is not really a good reason, you are at some point done, you have what you have, you finished the story...sure you can do ng+ but what does that add? what new experience would that give to be worth investing your time in.

Like to name something generic, in CoD you play against other people and people can be unpredictable, and challenging, that is why that remains fun, like playing chess against others, but Starfield as far as I can see offers pretty much nothing hence the question/intrigue

so a bit over 100 hours to do all the main story and faction quests but you have put in 250 hours, so where that come from then?

Well, I will put it into a spoiler :
When you move into the new game+ you get a new armor, it can be upgraded to level 10, like the powers you can "farm", 1 temple : +1 to a power, there are 24 powers.
You also get a new ship to help you "farm" those power upgrades if you want to do that, or just to rush into another NG+, it can be upgraded at maximum level 6. You get +1 to the armor and +1 to the ship everytime you enter the unity to go into another universe.
Also, you can be in a universe where you see yourself, it changes dialogues a little, fun thing.
Note that when you enter in NG+ you will have a new dialogue option when you got some choices, you already know things and you can tell the NPCs what you know.
Either you skip the main quest or you can do the full run, everytime, it's up to you. I have my powers at 7 right now, nobody forces you to get those powers upgrades, neither "farm" armor levels.

I've played a lot of multiplayer FPS when I was younger and it's just borring for me now, Counter-Strike 1.5 then 1.6, then some of the Battlefields, 3, Bad Company, 4. It's fun yeah but you always do the same loop, sometimes you "perform" better ok, it can be fun.
Some people find their fun into speedrunning Super NES games you know, I like to play Final Fantasy XIV with people and any other kind of videogames. I love space games like X3, X4, I liked Elite Dangerous and Starfield got a funny bit of space combat, you can make a ship of your choice, you can mod to prevent the game to stop your creativity too. I mean, Starfield is like a Fallout for me but with the space addition.

I've played when the game goes live on Sept 6th and I'm still playing it till this day. Is it a perfect single-player game? Of course not. My expectations were low and I'm not disappointed with it.
