As we get closer to a possible late summer/early autumn release window for mid-range AMD Radeon RX 7000-series gaming graphics cards, more leaks have emerged from sources in Asia. Benchlife believes that "in addition to Radeon RX 7900 GRE, AMD and its AIB partners are also preparing two Navi 32 chip graphics cards such as Radeon RX 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7700 XT, which are expected to be available in early September." Previous leaks have indicated that a September launch is planned, albeit with the RX 7800 XT SKU being based on a heavily modified Navi 31 GPU.

Two non-XT units have recently emerged via leaked benchmark results, so there could be a good number of options lined up for a third quarter 2023 launch. Jon Peddle Research (JPR) has added their two cents, by reconfirming that Team Red could be showcasing mid-range models at a late summer trade fair: "AMD is rumored to announce two new 7000-series AIBs at Gamescom in late August. The leaks suggest that AMD is behind NVIDIA in terms of AIBs and has open slots in its SKU lineup. The leaked benchmark data (see below) indicates that the RX 7800 and RX 7700 may compete with the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti, respectively." JPR proposes that AMD is preparing at least two mid-range models for launch, although this could increase to five. If a mysterious fifth candidate does exist outside of the oft mentioned RX 7700, RX 7700 XT, RX 7800 and RX 7800 XT SKUs, where would it be placed in the hierarchy? We can exclude the RX 7900 16 GB GRE GPU since it seems to be a Chinese market exclusive, with performance estimated to be just below RX 7900 XT standards.

JPR elaborated further: "AMD released the RX 7900 XTX at a price higher than expected, and sales were slow, so AMD lowered the price. Similarly, the RX 7600 was introduced at $269 and now has a street price of $258. The anticipated RX 7800 and RX 7700 ASPs could see a similar situation, but it's better to start high and come down in price than start low and try to raise prices." Here is JPR's comparison chart of leaked Navi specifications:

Is the pricing chart messed up? Why is the 7700 potentially more than the 7800?

550 for a card that is only a little bit better then its predecessor....yeah absolutely not.

RX 7600 was much cheaper than 6650XT $399 - > $269, 1 year difference
RX 7800 almost 3 years Nov2020 RX 6800, same number of CUs, $579 -> $550+-50, less L3 cache, should be no more than 399

They would have to sling Starfield into the price surely?

I know it's just a leak but nonetheless a bit disconcerting after the latest Nvidia full on charade.

Hopefully the cards are priced at the $350 and $500, the lower end of the possible listed prices. Not that I need a new GPU, it would just be nice to see lower pricing on these things.

See no need to replace my gpu. It gets the job done with no complaints from me. I can wait till 2025.

Well, this is underwhelming. Unless they're a compelling price proposition, why would anyone bother?

I think the prices on that chart for the 7700 and 7800 are assbackward!

At least it'll be possible to build a R7 7700 + RX 7700 or R7 7800X3D + RX 7800 system.

I plan to do that with an R7 8800(X/3D) and RX 8800(XT). I hope that it will be a nice upgrade and that AMD will make the chiplet design on gpu better than what RDNA 3 is.

I might do that too. I'm way too happy with the 6750XT for now. :ohwell:

Do we even need leaks for that? Take the 7900 XT and XTX: no ROG Strix, no Aorus, no SUPRIM, yadda yadda. Only second thought solutions if not from their exclusive partners (GPP is back, it's just no one made the mistake of announcing it this time).

What matters is always the current pricing, not some cherry picked pricing, especially at a time of extreme scalping because of a short-lived mining craze.

Radeon RX 6650 XT is 243€ | 225$.
Radeon RX 7600 is 271€ | 270$.

But to compare properly, you need to include the RX 6600 that is 200€ | 190$.

In this way, RX 7600 is 35% - 42% more expensive than RX 6600 which means it is a clear no-buy until the pricing is revised.
