Lenovo to use chinese Zhaoxin x86 CPUs? (VIA's back!)

I know this is the worst place to put this comment, but I have to say that I miss SiS more than I miss VIA.

I miss real Matrox more than them both.

Well they didn't, Imagination technologies just went mobile and Intel used them in their integrated GFX, if you were about Kyro, I had the Kyro II too... I dig Matrox about the image quality still... it was so noticeable during those days, their superb RAMDAC, I really liked it... image like ice. I had a Parhelia too, well their AA method was the best I've ever seen, the card was slow, but still kudos for a last attempt.

That's a load of hogwash. How did Apple transition from PowerPC to x86 if something along these lines would be "impossible"?

1. 2% of the PC market
2. The Church of Apple nearly encompassed that 2%
3. Planned Obsolescence is built into their business model.

The transition was just a slightly bigger hump than the ones before, since their customer base was so small they just covered their obvious bases and a huge middle finger to everyone else. If they tried to transition then while having the success the have today there is no way they'd survive it intact.
