Lexar Announces 200GB High-Performance 633x microSDXC UHS-I Card

Lexar, a leading global brand of flash memory products, today announced the new 200 GB Lexar High-Performance microSDXC UHS-I memory card. Designed for sports camcorders, tablets, and smartphones, the UHS-I, U1 microSDXC card has read transfer speeds up to 95 MB/s (633x) and can capture up to 17 hours of 4K and Full HD video; 33,000 photos; or 28,000 songs.

"Professional and everyday photographers are now more passionate about shooting high-quality video, on everything from digital SLRs to sports and aerial cameras," said Steffi Ho, product marketing manager, Lexar. "With the Lexar 200 GB microSDXC UHS-I card, photographers can continue to capture and store large amounts of content on the go, without having to worry about running out of space."



The 200 GB Lexar High-Performance 633x microSDXC UHS-I card comes with a USB 3.0 reader, which allows for high-speed file transfer of photos and videos from the card to a PC or Mac. The reader is also backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports and comes with a one-year limited warranty.

The 200 GB Lexar High-Performance 633x microSDXC UHS-I card comes with a limited lifetime warranty and includes a lifetime copy of Image Rescue software. Additionally, all Lexar product designs undergo extensive testing in the Lexar Quality Labs to validate performance, quality, compatibility, and reliability with more than 1,100 digital devices.

The new card is currently available for purchase with an MSRP of £109.99.

Google says £109.99 converts over to ~$155 here in the land of double bacon cheeseburgers. SanDisk has a similar one for ~$80 on the street. Maybe the write speeds are better though?

umm the sandisk one is 600x and lists that as 90MB/s Why in the world would you think 1x is 1 kilobit per second?

by my math 1x = 150 kilobytes per second (or 1.2 megabits per second.)

either way the sandisk one is cheaper and barely slower 90MBps vs 95MBps.

When these cards start costing 10-15 euros, I will start throwing away every hard disk drive I have for data. SSDs and SDs only. But we are still 3-5 years away from that to happen. Last year with 10-15 euros you could buy a 32GB microSD. Today you can buy a 64GB. Maybe in the end of 2017 we will be able to buy a 128GB card with less than 15 euros.
