Lian Li Announces New PC-Q13 Curved Chassis

Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd, today announces a new brushed aluminum Mini-ITX chassis ? PC-Q13. With its curve-shaped design and large acrylic front window the fully aluminum PC-Q13 allows users to show off their systems, and is sure to be the talking piece of any room. Whether in the living room, bedroom, or office, the PC-Q13 with its curve-shape and brushed aluminum finish takes visual command without being ostentatious. Additionally, DIY builders can put their stylized internal components and intricate builds on full display ? as they should not be hidden from sight.

Thanks to the two expansion slots on the top of the chassis, the PC-Q13 supports graphics cards up to 200mm (7.8"). For storage, up to four 2.5" hard drives or SSDs can be mounted in the removable hard drive cage at the bottom of the chassis. A 140mm fan in the rear of the chassis expels hot air, while ventilation on the top and side allows for cool air to enter. A small form factor power supply up to 125 mm (4.9") is placed on rubber pads in order to reduce vibrations.



The front of the PC-Q13 is minimalistic in aesthetics and houses the dual LED illuminated power button that glows blue when on and red while loading. The I/O panel with two USB 3.0 ports and HD audio connections is located on the left side of the front of the chassis to not interrupt the elegant aesthetics.

Amazing idea!

But when the aim of the case is to show off the hardware inside, it should at least be abit more enthusiast-orientated (eg take watercooling, longer gpu etc)

Guess I have to be one of the first to go against the grain, so to speak. Pretty dang ugly IMO. And of course I didn't have to get to the last paragraph to know it was going to be (again IMO) overpriced.

+1 to that. Hate it, Dont see how its useful or tasteful, and only makes itself difficult to place in a normal computer case area.

I say Super stupid... WTF marketing got this past a bad brainstorming session on acid to then waste good engineering, materials, and production time to actually bring it to market OMG! I knew Lian-Li has been “comatose” when it came to any smart revolution in design and/or aesthetics, but this proves they don’t know how seriously they’ve gone off the rails. I mean the Train case was bizarre, but as novelty, whatever… but this! Get over yourselves or do us a favor and just pack it in.

SFX PSUs are hard to come by over here. That makes it a no-go for a lot of people.
As for looks, I actually like it and would like to make a build with it...except it would have been awesome if it supported ATX PSUs and the cooler height restriction wasn't 130cm...(something like 150cm would add a lot more compatibility)
The 140cm fan sucking air will make the inside of that case a display of dust in no time, without filters.

Slap an LCD monitor in place of that window and you've got a decent-looking kiosk. That's the only practical application I can see for this, but they neglected to add the LCD and a good way of connecting it internally.

NOT for me personally, IMO it's ugly. But I Love the freedom, and choice to push the "normal" design borders.

As far as Lian Li goes, I've NEVER understood the attraction to their Cases. Yeah, I can plainly see that they are built with quality, and function in mind, but To Me, they look SO ....... Bare. Like an empty canvass. Which I assume is the point I guess, and that appeals to some people. but their cost is JUST ridiculous AFAIC.
They remind me of Pretentious art work, or "Too Good for the Normal People" cases, that are simply coveted BECAUSE of their high price. I've had one in my possesion, and I didn't see any rEAL innovation, that doesn't come in Most standard Tt cases, or CM cases that sell for $50-$150.
But as long as someone likes them, What concern is it of mine.'Eh

This is why I love Lian Li. Okay, maybe it isn't terribly beautiful or practical, but I prefer the fact that they tried and that this exists, as opposed to them just making another boring case that looks like this...
